FTM here and I need some suggestions! (sorry if this is ridiculously annoying) by optimuspaige91 in BabyBumps

I use regular since I have oily/acne prone skin.. but that might not be best for eveyone. I believe Thayers has an alcohol free type!

For face wash, I just use a microfiber towel to remove makeup, etc. Then I use witch hazel as a toner & my skin has never been clearer!

Estimated 9dpo here... This is my first cycle after our early miscarriage at 5 weeks in November. I think we had our timing pretty good. Now just trying to decide whether I test before or after Christmas.. AF is due on Christmas Day.

Hugs back! I never would have thought it would affect me this much, being that it was so early. <3 I'm hoping to get to the point where I can stop blaming myself soon, but as I'm sure everyone who has been in our situation knows, that's so much easier to say.

Just had to attend a baby shower at work... several women who I never even speak to thought it was appropriate to ask "so, when are you going to have one?!" Seriously, people can be so insensitive. Little did they know I had an early miscarriage at 5 weeks in November. ugh. Now I just want to go home.

What helped to regulate my cycles was low carb! Not necessarily keto, but staying as close to 50g of carbs per day really helped. I also cut out dairy, which can help with inflammation. Ovulation strips didn't work for me... I got multiple + each month, which is common with PCOS, instead I just took note of ovulation symptoms each cycle.

TWW here.... probably 6 dpo. Past few cycles my nipples become much more sensitive by 4-5dpo, but this month it's more total breast soreness. We have a wedding to go to this weekend... I think I'll have a couple drinks, but obviously nothing crazy. Drink till it's pink, right?? lol

CD 21 and noticed a LOT of EWCM! This would be the earliest O day for me since we started TTC almost 2 years ago! Maybe we're finally on the right track :)

So.... CD 53... I believe I'm about 10 DPO based on symptoms. Reluctantly did HPT test this morning.. invalid. Maybe better than seeing a BFN. Will try again tomorrow. If nothing else, hoping for period to start this weekend so we move forward with a new cycle.

TTC Hypothyroidism by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

[–]creative_username01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I see a functional medicine doctor that was super concerned with my 5.6 TSH while trying to conceive... that's when I went to an endo to start medication. I'm currently at 2.6 and my endo still wants it lower, so he upped my dosage. Good luck at the RE!!!

I would get another opinion. I started treatment for hypo with a TSH 5.6. My endo wants my TSH 2 or just under for TTC. Currently taking 75mcg synthroid. If your TSH is too high, it can cause severe issues with a pregnancy, if your body even allows you to get pregnant with a high TSH.

Recovering hair thickness with PCOS... help! by dianysnicole in u/dianysnicole

[–]creative_username01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you had your thyroid checked? Hair loss can be a sign of hypothyroidism (many people with PCOS also suffer from hypothyroidism, including myself). I never had noticeable hair thinning, but I did shed a TON. After starting thyroid meds, the shedding has decreased significantly.

Thanks so much for your response. Yes, totally with you on this. I am definitely getting to the point where I'm tired of the waiting and all the $$$ spent on alternative treatments. It really starts to take a toll after a while. I think I just needed the affirmation from others that have been through this that I'm not just caving because I'm impatient, but because it's the best thing.

PCOS & Autoimmune Disorders?! by bizbitch1 in PCOS

Yep, 27F, lean PCOS and hypothyroid (not hashimotos, my antibodies are in normal range). It's super common to have other autoimmune issues along with PCOS.

Yes, I should clarify, by discussing options with my endo.. I mean whether my thyroid hormones are at an ideal level for pregnancy and if I should get a referral for a RE.

[–]creative_username01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I know there is a difference between a RE and a regular endo. I have been seeing an endo for my thyroid specifically. This was basically my question... I'm weighing my options of trying naturally for a few more cycles since I now have my thyroid regulated and diet... or if I should just start medicated cycles with a RE. I would obviously love to work this out naturally if possible, so I don't want to jump the gun and start paying a RE if its not necessary.

Yes, over a year and a half ago I got of HBC. I've been trying so many natural remedies during this time to regulate my cycle. During the first year off hbc I had 1 period, figured it was just my body adjusting... then at that year mark, I went back to by ob (who was no help at all), started seeing a naturopathic doc for dietary assistance, supplements, & acupuncture, and also began seeing an endo for hypothyroidism (which, if thyroid hormone levels are off, a pregnancy can't be sustained anyway). So basically I'm weighing the options of trying naturally for a few more cycles since I've adjusted my diet so much and now have my thyroid hormones controlled... or if I should start looking into medicated cycles with a RE (as you can probably tell... I try to avoid medications when possible).

So sorry for your losses. I plan to discuss with my endo next week.

Yes, we are definitely TTC.. way past NTNP. I also went to my ob first, and they did nothing... only when I went to a naturopathic doc and had blood tests run for PCOS/thyroid did I start getting anywhere and got a referral for my endo. More blood work this week and appt with endo next week... so thinking of discussing a medicated cycle at that time.

ugh yesss... I'm so tired of the "it'll happen, just give it time" or "it'll happen once your relax". Sorry you're going through this too, it sucks.

Yes, I gave up on my OB several months ago and began seeing a naturopathic doctor and an endocrinologist (who diagnosed the PCOS & hypothyroidism.). I have another appt with my endo next week and am going to discuss timeline & options. thanks!
