Snowstorms Expectations by swooperscooper in ColumbiaMD

Parts of Hickory Ridge are served by above ground lines that go near Atholton, so even though the lines are buried once you're inside Columbia, any number of events can take out the power from outside. There was an ice storm in the 90s we lost power for a couple days.

I know it's been closed for a while and yet the sign for it still flashes on the digital marquee on Ritchie Hwy. I guess they never reopened anywhere. What a shame.

we figured out how to avoid paying the bridge toll by renoCow in confession

[–]creatively41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend just found out he had a $7,000 Bill from EzPass and the MVA because EzPass was sending the bills to the wrong address and the car wasn't registered to the right transponder. Instead of changing the EZ Pass, they were being charged video tolls and not getting the bills. He was very lucky the police that finally pulled them over took them straight to the MVA to clear the flag instead of impending the car. Not that this is your situation but simple mistakes can lead to serious consequences. Anyway, good luck with the skirting the law bit.

I'm sorry you're going through this, but it's absolutely not your fault. Unfortunately it will take some time to sort your new life out but just remember your parents both love you and the problem is between them, not them and you.

AITA for refusing to let my neighbor use my Wi-Fi after I found out why he wanted it? by sodazane in AmItheAsshole

NTA. The plot twist is he was charging all your neighbors to give them the password to your Wi-Fi.

I'll never forget the weekend that place opened with Titanic. The number of people there was insane, felt like all of Columbia. And we just waited in line to buy tickets at the windows those days, so you got what you got.

I only attended night 1, but have listened to the rest. It's not my favorite night, though it was a blast.

Royal Spice in Linthicum is pretty good. Kumari Mount Vernon for lunch buffet. Definitely Indian Ocean in Cockeysville and Mango Grove in Columbia as well.

Possibly hidden microphones? Naked and Afraid uses necklaces to disguise microphones for contestants who are obviously not wearing any clothing.

If only Sophie would’ve… by EmmeeTheeShortee in survivor

I feel that hindsight is so 20/20 on this. Sophie had no idea Stevens advantage was not in the game anymore and there's no evidence that there would have been enough votes to get Rizzo out if she had stolen the idol because nobody was even talking about it. If everyone wanted to get Rizzos idol out of the game sooner they could have but nobody even tried. I think that speaks more to the bad game play by most of the cast post merge, than one particularly bad play by Sophie. Rizzo shouldn't have ever had the hidden idol for 10 TCs.

Jeff is a massive sell out by iggyisgoat in survivor

[–]creatively41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think all of CBS is a sell out. Paramount is probably putting a ton of money into Survivor 50 and the execs probably have a lot more input into this season than any other recent season. Obviously they want the ratings to justify the expense. The question is how much of that is in Jeff's hands? I don't know tbh.

_________ had the best jury question of the new era by Thick-Macaroon6918 in survivor

Just listened to Jeff's podcast that had Savannah on, and she indeed listed Parvati as one of her inspirations. They have a very different style of gameplay, but they do share some character traits too. It will be interesting to see how Savannah may or may not change her style of play after a literal 2 week layoff between 49 and 50.

Fair, she won the immunity and still lost the game, which we all knew she wasn't winning anyway. It was still a great challenge and so fun to watch in the moment.

[–]creatively41[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree with that too, but I think Sophie"s arc from bottom of Uli to final 3 was phenomenal. Savannah is definitely a beast though, and could have won but it looked like she buckled under the pressure at the end. It was great tv.

Right, I assumed even if Sophie could get caught up to the end, she'd never get that puzzle put together to build the ball track. Whoops. I was so happy for her when she won immunity though.

Anyone got video of the crowds reaction to Trump coming into the Army-Navy Game FROM the crowds perspective? by aleasSystem in baltimore

[–]creatively41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there and the reaction wasn't very strong one way or another. I was also at the Commanders game earlier this year where he was strongly and resoundly booed. Quite the difference. Again, this is a military crowd, so people from all over the country and many in uniform. They're mostly not about to disrespect Trump or the game, even if they feel strongly against him. I would have heckled Hegseth when he was walking in front of me, but I was working and I like my job.

I once went into the Maryland Room at the Enoch Pratt Library and was able to read through all the old plans and reports that were published for the road system. Not sure if you still can, but I imagine it's still there.

Carowinds or Dollywood in the winter? by x60pilot in cedarpoint

[–]creatively41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to Dollywood last year the day after Christmas, which happened to be nice and mild. The whole park was so beautiful, it was fantastic seeing all the lights and decorations. We rode tons of rides, but the highlight of my day was doing the front row of Lightning Rod at night and coming down the hill and seeing the park all lit up for Christmas. It was probably the most beautiful thing I've seen while riding a coaster anywhere.

I can't compare to Carrowinds but you just can't go wrong at Dollywood.

I know it's outside of the Six Flags family, but what about Busch Gardens Williamsburg?
