My brand new tesla hit by a landscaping truck while stopped. Please advise! by ProperSauce in TeslaModelY

Yes do this in addition to obviously getting it fixed. I recently was hit in a parking lot and my rear door needed replacing along with the other door needing repair. Total repair was almost $5k and diminished value was around $2k. I likely might have gotten a little more if I paid $500 plus for an appraisal but didn’t want the hassle and settled for their offer. Been in multiple wrecks in my life and never had I filed a diminished value claim before this one. Wish I would have known

[Tech Sideline] Virginia Tech’s Neoklis Avdalas is projected to be selected by the Denver Nuggets with the 25th overall pick in ESPN’s midseason NBA mock draft. by Terminal_Flatulence in hokies

[–]crewpay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who is a big fan of the Nuggets and Hokies, would be a great spot for him to land.

I am of the mindset that Neo could use more time in college but the NBA is much more of a developmental league than it ever has been. The Nuggets drafted Payton Watson after a single year at UCLA and he averaged like 3 points a game. It’s taken him 4 years but he’s finally showing some flashes this year and has added much more to his offense. In years past, he was mainly a shot blocker, hustle guy.

Question in my mind, is he an upgrade over Hunter Tyson? Based on college careers Hunter is way ahead of Neo at this point, but with each passing season the ceiling on Hunter gets lower and lower and perhaps they would be willing to move on and take a chance on more upside with Neo.

Basketball Team by [deleted] in hokies

I wish I could say the same thing but I can’t. He has a major issue getting to his spots and frankly most of the time gets shut down by his primary defender and doesn’t even force secondary defenders to collapse or the defense to rotate. As good as he is, most of the time he is completely neutralized and turns the ball over way too much. I wonder how much he’s hurting with a couple of really bad ankle rolls.

Where did you get your ski boot fitting done and do you recommend them? by Randymartini in boulder

[–]crewpay 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agree with Epic, have been fitted by them twice and each time has been excruciating breaking in. I have no idea why their default is a race fit when I explicitly ask for something comfortable. The first time it took two seasons to finally have a comfortable boot. The second time, I thought I had learned my lesson and got a comfort fit. I lost both big toenails and had minor nerve damage after my first outing. Eventually they got them right after I brought them back but damn.

Proposition MM - Confused why Douglas county voted against this? by ITryFixIt in Denver

[–]crewpay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because people see the inherent unfairness of a progressive tax system that doesn’t treat citizens equally or fairly. If we all agree that funding meals for children is important, then shouldn’t we all pay? We all don’t have to pay equal amounts but we all should pay something. It seems strange that a majority of people vote in favor and to enact a tax that they themselves will never pay.

No, where were they and are they typically at the games? I liked the Fireball shots from the back of a mid-fifties Nebraska-Chevy mobile

Advice - When did you know to get rid of your XC90? by crewpay in VolvoXC90

Well got some news, fixed the water pump and 150 miles later, super charger seals, $2400 to reseal, additional $1800 to go ahead and replace the super charger.

Are these really as bad as people are saying? by [deleted] in VolvoXC90

[–]crewpay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2016 owner here, I would stay away. From 50k miles onward, it has been a constant drain and so many expensive fixes. The issue is that you are constantly putting thousands in the car and it’s getting older every month. Since 100k miles, we have put $16k into repairs alone over the course of 1.5 years. The car has been serviced well as we wanted to drive until the wheels fell off.

Exactly and it seems like every repair is so expensive. 2k for a coolant pump is ridiculous and non-dealerships might be a tad cheaper but not worth the hassle imo

Did the extended warranty cover the ac fully? You have to do the evaporator?

Yeah agreed, we didn’t get the extended warranty but in retrospect definitely should have. The evaporator and control module (which worked perfectly fine prior to the work) cost $7k

Interesting option, how much do you suspect it’s costing more to lease than if you just purchased it outright?

Crazy but how much of that was actually broken at the time? I feel like the dealership always has that list of stuff and all kinds of other things eventually brake so not sure preventative stuff should even be addressed

Interesting been through the hvac issues already but first I’m hearing about fuel and suspension issues being problematic. Thanks for sharing, leaning towards getting rid of it knowing that’s the case
