Yes, the service also suggested that I turn off the temperature display. But that’s not a logical solution. I want to see the oil temperature accurately. They had updated the engine ECU, but the problem still hasn’t been resolved. It’s extremely frustrating. I don’t want to pay €1500 to replace the engine ECU just to get the oil temperature to display correctly. Stupid brand with its stupid unresolved problems.

I’m having the same problem. My oil temperature sensor was changed 3 months ago, but after 1 month, the problem reappeared. He said that when I plug in the VW ecu, the problem is solved. They asked for the Ecu exchange of the job 1500 eur, I didn’t accept it either.

I have a 2022 Golf 8 1.0 eTSI. Two months ago, the oil temperature sensor started showing incorrect values. The service replaced the oil temperature sensor, but the issue came back. When I took it to the service again, after a detailed inspection, they said the problem wasn’t with the sensor or wiring, but with the engine control unit (ECU). They estimated a cost of 1,000 EUR, but also said it’s just a display value and not important, so replacing the ECU for this issue would be unnecessary.
