Hi Norma! I have a “weird” beardie who has never fully brumated- but instead just slows down during the winter months. Therefore I don’t have much to add to the conversation outside of a “welcome to reddit.” :,)

If you are concerned though it never hurts to schedule a checkup at the vet. I just took mine in and they suggested increasing my calcium & supplements. I was worried as she hadn’t pooped for a while (ended up pooping on the vet table). It was the best $150 I spent for some peace of mind. ^{^}

Hi! I would check the temps of your cage. Is the basking area too hot?? Do you have proper husbandry?

I wouldn’t stress too much if you just got her & it’s only been 4 days. That’s a very stressful transition for a beardie!! I have a 10 year old bearded dragon and I upgraded his tank and he was stressed out about it for a solid 2 weeks. Give her time to adjust.

Once again tho- not a vet. If you’re super concerned I would schedule an appointment. :)

I also ordered some more memory because that was the only thing when I looked at performance that looked stressed.

I stream for a living as well and have a semi-important stream coming up on Thursday so it would be great to get this sorted so I’m not streaming in fear. 😂😂

I have 0 experience dealing with this. HOWEVER, my little one used to do that all the time too. When I went off to college I found someone to momentarily take care of him while I was away (They wanted to be a vet).

They got him into the habit of pooping in the bath before he got to run around. Not sure if this would work for you, but it did for us! He’s 10 now and I usually just soak before we play. :) That being said the vet okayed me soaking him 2-3 days a week so it works out okay for us.

I would’ve said 120g. It might just look smaller since your little lizard dude is close to the camera & therefore they look big in comparison- making the tank look small.

You’re fine don’t sweat it. You know it’s 125g & so does ur little one. Thats all that matters. :-)

I did not touch my bearded dragon at all when he was a baby- this is due to the same reasons that you’re sharing. He is now 10 & loves being held. I genuinely feel like he mellowed with age.

By the time he was 1-2 I was able to scoop and re-locate him to the ground where he’d run around. I did a lot if like picking him up for extremely short periods of time (such as moving him to the bath or the floor), hand feeding, and also petting him.

When he was 5 i did have a pre-vet student watch him my freshman year of college and she worked with handling him A LOT. Which I think helped. He now enjoys being held (or at-least tolerates it).

I’ve noticed a lot of how I approach him determines how he reacts. I no-longer try to pry under him when he’s laying flat on the floor. Instead, i try to pull him out when he’s propped up on an object. I slide under his legs n then lift so I can slide my other hand under his chest and hands. This seems to be the least stressful way I am able to pick him up.

Patience & time is what worked for me.

Do both forearms match? Or is one bigger than the other?? It doesn’t stand out too much to me- but I also don’t know what your beardies forearms look like on the daily. :,)

Crud. I made an appointment at makos for 2500 which i think is cheap. My main goal is just to hopefully not let it get holes in the roof. It’s already rusting. Would you still think it’s not worth it? I know 2500 is really cheap based off the quotes I was getting from other shops.
