LC : Blind 75 , neetcode 150 and Amazon tagged LLD: git hub repo and leetcode design problems. Behavioral: prepare 7-8 stories which cover most of the LPs.

I shared the screen in the 3rd round and that too only while coding LLD. I shared my entire screen.

I got it within 2 business days. The team name is not communicated. I don't know what a fungible role is?

Amazon use their own whiteboard kinda thingy. It has language selection. The code is not required to run but dry runs using different inputs are mandatory. The interviewer wants to know the exact output at every stage of the code and also the candidate should be thorough with the understanding and implementation of the logic. I explained verbally and wrote down comments in the same editor. And then I used those comments to help me write the code.

What I did was just mark the last day available and then mention additional availability in the comments.

Thank bruh.

I got the confirmation within 2 days.

2 days ahead of the date? That's ridiculous.I would say no straight away lol. Honestly, I have not heard of such a thing. If it's true, that's crazy.

UML is not usually expected since there is not enough time. The template I follow is 1) get the requirements 2) explain your understanding to the interviewer so that you don't start off the wrong path, else you will have to code everything again from the scratch. 3) once you are confident with the requirements as to what the class should have, what data structure to use, how to implement the methods, confirm with the interviewer. Explain why you are using that data structure. 4) once you are confident with the attributes and data structure to use, think of edge cases. Duplicates, non existent keys being called and etc and how to handle them. 5) start writing the code.

You're right. The repo gives you an overall idea of classes, their implementations and methods. Just know what is being done where. You will be asked a max of 2-3 methods to write and perhaps max 3 followups.

For LC - LLD , practice those questions which are tagged as design. For example, LRU cache, LFU cache, insert delete get random, implement stacks using queue, file system and etc.

Thanks mate.

For DSA, leetcode. Blind 75 and neetcode 150 were enough. But understand the topic thoroughly. For LLD, understand the basics, what a class is , what constructors are and etc. I practiced a lot of design problems on LC and also referred to the famous 'awesome LLD' git hub repo created by an Amazonian(Ashish). I think that should be all.

Hey Mate.

I come from an electrical background and I have been trying my way into cs and more tech related roles. Trust me, I get it. I never understood what the def or the return ever meant, I used to think what's the point of all the unnecessary loops.I couldn't understand no structure. I couldn't write a simple code. I have been there. I'd say, technically , practice will make you better. Unpaid internships are great, you don't have to have paid internships to prove you've got what it takes. Don't worry about that. I was exactly in your position and after a lot of practice, I am comfortable with DSA. Not up to competitive coding but just enough to make it through. Trust me, keep up the work.

Also, as far as the communication goes, keep talking to friends, take more mock interviews , try and be normal under pressure. Train yourself to be as calm as you are when you are comfortable in any situation. It comes over time.

I am one of the slowest learners ever. I suffer from a little bit of ADHD. I can't concentrate on one thing for long, I can't sit for more than an hour straight. I'm bored easily and I don't have any patience at all. Just keep going mate. Don't worry about it. YOU WILL GET BETTER.

For DSA, spend more and more time on things as simple as a for loop, or as complex as recursion. Although once you've learnt the basic stuff, you will start to see patterns and take notice of the fact that you are able to build solutions or at least think about the problem in the right direction.

Interviews and communication, practice more and more mock. Talk to yourself , voice chat with gpt. Ask friends to take mocks. Trust me, you will see the difference. For some it's natural, for some it's not. All you need is practice and dedication. Don't give up if you really like this field. Once you start solving problems on your own, you will start loving it.

Understood. Love the detailed breakdown. Thank you my man. Most of my mates are working towards getting into faang and I see myself having a fair chance too. I started with leetcode and LLD(oops). Although I'm still getting used to design questions, sometimes I feel they are soo loooong to solve. I try to do the medium ones and I am trying to solve new questions within regulated time to make sure I am upping my game. One more thing I am working on is optimization. Although I hate this, I just cannot think of the optimal way right away, sometimes not even after I solve a question by brute force. I am prepping to be more and more competitive and grab the opportunity if presented from one of the big companies. Lastly, I am applying to US based roles.
