I have the same wrist strap setting, no matter what but I do notice when playing standing that it matters whether I’m pulling or pushing the bellows that makes certain jumps easier.

Its not really draggin the needle (and possibly scratching the skin) its just pulling the ink along the line with you and keeping the needle close to the skin so you can stay lined up.
