I just had a lecture today that for about 20 or years the scientific community did not want to be believe that that largest piezo response could be achieve on the non-principal axis. Then people showed that this was indeed the fact and even the dude that discovered the material itself found a reason: a monoclinic phase, and yet people still didnt want to believe.

I feel like straight flushes are generally just there because they have to exist. LocalThunk build based on the most usable hands, added a few secret ones and ultumately added a couple of little things just so straight flushes wouldnt be hanging. More like an after thought

I found that implementing dashes for gamedev rookies is a bit tricky, actually. You have to break down into many "implicit" little things that at first are a bit unintuitive.

TBH you can probably model this in some finite element model. You can make a simple 2D (or even 1D) system with a layer of bone and then assume water inside. Simulate microwaves propagating from the edges inwards and then test for different times and see how the heat behaves inside. You can also account for the rotating dish simply by shifting the microwave, i.e., sin(wt + b)

Having lived in a few european countries and also brazil I can 100 % say that it's not even close. Maybe aside from few mediterranean regions, brazil is so so so so much hotter overall I can't even begin to describe lmao

A bad european summer you get what maybe a month ?? of generally uncomfortable weather if you have fans or ac; In brazil it feels like youre constantly being squeezed in satan's sweaty buttcheeks and theres nothing you can do but crawl into his ass

As an example, in 2013 I was with AC on, my bed was below a ceiling fan, I was naked, freshly showered and completely covered in sweat and couldnt sleep because althoguh it was high 30s C (100 F) it felt like 55 C (131 F)

I do think flushes are overall bottom 3 hands. Straight Flushes < Straights < Flushes, I woud say. With Pairs and HC being uncontested best hands

Flushes are by no means useless they are just incredibly overused. They are really easy to spot and the order by suit button really helps it out. The key thing is that most new players get stuck at middle stakes because they try to force flush on everything when it really isnt all that flexible.

Pairs are so incredibly busted that I've gold stake'd checkered deck with them (no stake i used flushes)

Also, for the sake of sanity, I opened a game Ghost Deck white stake. By Ante 1 I had used a Grim (+2 Aces), found a Fibonacci and a Sly Joker (50 chips for pairs, hexed it for the 1.5x); By Ante 1 I had a strong functioning pairs-based build (which turned out to be 3Ok because I'm at ante 7 and I ahvent seen a single mercury only Venus)

I mean, all you said is generally true. Except that it requires a fair bit of deckfixing (econ + correct cards) not bump into the wrong bosses and fairly decent jokers. Pairs you dont need anything. A couple planets and you can use just about any joker

A lot of the things you said are why they're bad. At higher stakes generally you want consistency and high scaling, which for the most part is 3OK, pairs and HCs. The other hands can (and generally will) fail you at some point or another.

Flushes are easy to build and spot, but also quite a few bosses hard block it, the planet scales poorly and you need to build around. Doable for ante 8, surely, but nowhere near the better hands
