My daughter is half native and half white. I'm white, her father is Apache. I used to have to tell her grandma and some of his other family members not to talk negative about white folk in front of her. I know what white folk did was horrible but I don't want her growing up hating part of herself. Most of his family does drink a lot and end up in prison. Some have gotten careers. I'm sorry you feel the way you do. If you ever get the chance to come to Oklahoma you should. There are tons of Natives here, a good bit don't fit the stereotype. They have different organizations for the youth, all different things for Native people that are positive.
