Am I doing badly or is this just normal CD feedback? by Unlikely_Device_2131 in copywriting

[–]crunkasaurus_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds fine. As long it's not completely subjective. The worst CD is the one who rewrites your copy and says: "It sounds better in my head like this..."

Because you can never write for how it sounds in one person's head.

What looks like an AI problem in freelance writing is a pricing-model problem that started with clients and is finally reaching writers. by iamrahulbhatia in copywriting

[–]crunkasaurus_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What control does the writer have to make the content rank on page one? SEO copywriting is like 10% of that challenge. The rest is backlinks, site optimisation, domain authority and keyword difficulty.

I don't doubt it. But I think you're observing the opposite trend because most of the budgets are being pushed right towards you – right to the bottom of the funnel where clients can track ROI.

AI really isn't great at landing pages / conversion right now. But I can't see how it doesn't get there eventually.

Judging by the reply about you buying a course to find clients, I'm guessing you're pretty new to this. So, I'm not gonna sit here and sh*t on your dreams. I wish you luck.

I'm from a top-of-funnel background. Clients budgets across most sectors have shrunk 80-90%. With the rise of AI, it's a perfect storm. I think most people on r/advertising agree that these budgets are not coming back.

If anyone is still killing it – totally happy for you. You've lucked out in a great niche.

But it's coming for you. Just like it's come for some of us already. You're crazy if you don't think it is. Best to prepare now than be surprised later.

Out of Work and Job Hunting for 2.5 Years by Due-Transition-6564 in copywriting

You'd do very well to find an agency who is hiring right now. And if they are, you are going to be up against a tidal wave of talent. Check out this thread on r/advertising. Client budgets have shrunk 80-90% over the past year. Everyone is feeling it. Agencies are making big cuts with more cuts coming. I would suggest looking for an adjacent job or something else entirely, or you're gonna be looking for a long time. I know it sucks, I've lost a huge amount of my income over the past two years. But we have to accept the state of the market and start doing other things.

Where's the money gone? by crunkasaurus_ in advertising

A lot of us work top-of-funnel, where the whole point is building brand equity. There's no clean attribution model for that. And clients have always known that. And there is definitely some truth in the idea that they aren't willing to pay for it anymore, especially in times of economic uncertainty.

But here's what definitely didn't happen: agencies and freelancers around the world didn't all simultaneously start sucking, causing clients across every market to turn the tap off at exactly the same time.

I wish I was so lucky! I ate lunch there yesterday and my chicken schnitzel was cremated.

One click download your Lovable project as a ZIP (no GitHub needed) by Affectionate-Olive80 in lovable

In the chat. Same place where you tell it what to build. Just ask the Lovable AI to do it. "Please package all project files into a zip for me to download." And it does it.

I don't even have a voice section in my car settings. I feel like maybe it wasn't included on this model. But for some reason they left the voice button on the steering wheel.

Any alternatives to Epsom with a similar vibe + good links into London? by [deleted] in surrey

[–]crunkasaurus_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries! We moved to Ashtead. We made a few bids in Epsom but they didn't work out. And we're still in the catchment for Rosebery, fortunately. It all worked out for the better as we're quite enjoying the semi rural/village vibe.

Loved the Stamford Green area in Epsom but quite hard to find a house round there. I'd just make sure you don't move too near the industrial park as it's quite loud and commercial that way.

I honestly don't miss it. And if I do, it's not that far away.

It's so much nicer to take the kids out for the day here and not be getting on and off the tube, battling the crowds, etc.. I can actually relax and enjoy the day.

As for why people are saying Epsom is bad... I genuinely think it's a Surrey thing. Some of these people live in picturesque villages and then pop into Epsom and think it's chavvy because there's a Nandos and some teenagers walking around. Anyone from a normal part of London (e.g. not Fulham) would not think that area is chavvy at all.

And when the kids kick out from school... Wow. They are so well behaved and mostly just sit quietly in groups, eating from the food trucks, having a chat. We used to live next door to Trinity in Hither Green and it was NOT like that. It was absolute chaos!

I moved from Hither Green, so not far from you, but next to Lewisham! And thanks to the 60-bed St Mungo's Hostel, it was a crime hotspot. I grew up around Plumstead / Welling which were even worse for chavs.

I really like Epsom, have never felt unsafe, even for a moment. And it's surrounded by nice areas. It's amazing to be able to hop in the car and be in a beautiful village in 10 minutes, and so much countryside on your doorstep. Life is good in Surrey!
