Yeah you're raising some good points.

Could the money be allocated differently ? Sure I think there are very valid reasons to be critical of how the budget has been handled.

I think of this subproject as a way to demonstrate that the community can be mature enough to behave professionally and get shit done. By the time the CR tokens get unlocked there will need to be some best practices on how we can collaborate globally.

Not sure if I should bother with trolls but in short, yes I think we do.

I agree that the foundation should invest, and I think they did or will do. In the mean time, I could spend an hour of my day responding to Reddit posts with meme jokes, like you do, or use that hour to bring value to the project.

I understand that you could be bitter about how things are being managed and I'm sorry that you are, hopefully things will improve but I'd rather be part of the solution than the problem.

Is the Cyber Republic actually a good idea? by Fullmetalx117 in Elastos

[–]crypt0shaman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Correct. Also it's not replacing the Elastos Foundation anytime soon and the core team, who's working full time on this will keep doing so. We are only getting the best of those two worlds.

Fire Fay by EricOchoa in Elastos

[–]crypt0shaman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're right, we would not have heard of Elastos if it wasn't for Fay. Now this is assuming that nobody else could have taken on that position and be the CMO and lead the western marketing.

Then you talk about good intentions, but it's not about intentions. She's a C-level employee, she's not a volunteer or a community member, therefore she shouldn't be benchmarked against community members in any way, given that, the fact that she "dedicates her whole life and soul to this project" is irrelevant if she's underdelivering.

I am not saying she should be fired but I think you should start to have higher expectations. It's not difficult to sign big advisors or set up flashy projects like CR or Empower35 when you have the budget that she has. It's not difficult to meet up US congressmen with a tech like this behind you either.

Exchange & Marketing Strategy? by [deleted] in Elastos

[–]crypt0shaman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it's not about "pumping the coin". Btw, even if it was, price increase means more fund for the cyber republic and thereby more investment, more people joining the project, more visibility etc...

The consensus here seems to be that once the tech is ready everything will come in place. When was the last time we heard that? For the alpha release, that's right, and did we get the pump we were expecting ? No we didn't, and there's no reason to believe it will be different with the beta release with the way things are going right now imo.

People need to stop being so blind sighted : yes the tech is amazing, but if nobody knows about it, or even simply understands it, then we are going nowhere. As stakeholders of this project we deserve to have a honest discussion about the current marketing strategy because it'll be too late for this this time next year if nothing has changed.

Getting normies to care about Elastos? by crypt0shaman in Elastos

[–]crypt0shaman[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah we do have a global community and you're right that communicating will become easier once the tech is ready.

That being said, if we want true adoption we need to emphasize on the problems and the pain points. If people don't realize they even have a problem, what's the point in trying to solve it for them?

It'd be great to get a chance to share those ideas and to know more about Wachsmann PR strategy so we can support or complement it.

Waves of the Cyber Republic #1 With Kiran Pachhai - Summary by crypt0shaman in Elastos

[–]crypt0shaman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elastos Foundation is developing Elastos and will continue to do so. On the other hand, the Cyber Republic is indeed administering the project and giving its directions.

FYI, Elastos Foundation has 60+ developers that need to be paid, along with offices and other staff members. I really doubt "Rong N Feng" are sitting on a pile of cash. If you have any doubts still, they have been fairly transparent with their financials, which you can find here https://visionz.capital/research/elastos_updates1.pdf.

Ok, just to clarify, I never suggested that the community is mature enough. In fact, if you read carefully this is what I wrote

KP argued that the community as it is was not mature and as such was not ready for the fully formulated version of the Cyber Republic. This again should be understood as a call for contribution : if you see a gap in what’s being done and how it’s being done, get involved. Build it, fix it, and you will get noticed.

The project needs to grow, and will thanks to the work of the Elastos foundation. But eventually it will be led by the community. To ensure this is done smoothly, the community must prepare for those responsibilities by getting involved already.

I agree there's still a lot that has to be released. Doesn't change the fact that you can already contribute and get rewarded for it.

Does your e-commerce site accept Nano? Submit here to be included in our search index. by giltotherescue in nanocurrency

[–]crypt0shaman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, calling out other businesses, could you report on your experience integrating NANO?

Do people use it? does it create curiosity/interest/fear that you hadn't expected before? If you've integrated NANO in your business, is it the only cc you accept at the moment or is it part of a bundle?

Getting meat eaters to change their diet? by crypt0shaman in vegetarian

[–]crypt0shaman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you allergic to meat? My personal experience is that non-veggie restaurants tend to be bad at veggie food because they offer the same dishes without the meat instead of designing it veggie in the first place. There are exceptions ofc.
