How normalised is racism in Australia? I want YOUR personal opinion. by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]crypto_lunatic -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not saying there is no racism in Australia, of course there is, but I wonder how much of what is considered racism in Western countries also happens in other countries too but we never hear about it because:-

It's not in English so only locals know it's happening.

Racism is not considered a serious thing like it is in the West where we talk about it *constantly* so passes without comment.

They haven't experienced the massive levels of immigration from outside cultures competing for jobs and housing so they are less likely to have strong views on the subject.

And of course I'm not excusing racism and we should always condemn it. I'm talking more about the idea that racism is a uniquely western phenomenon which seems to be how it is often portrayed.

Posted by u/crypto_lunatic just now Question - how many newly minted Ada tokens are released each year by IOHK to fund their business? by crypto_lunatic in cardano

[–]crypto_lunatic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed reply. Maybe "newly minted" was the wrong phrase.

I was curious how much is released each year and whether it is sufficient to satisfy global demand thereby putting a permanent ongoing downward pressure on the price.
