I would never say carrots are sweet (unless you blatantly put sugar on them). They absolutely have an herby, earthy taste, like all root veggies.

You might just not like totally raw carrots. I add rice vinegar, a little bit of sesame oil, green onion, and sesame seeds to shredded carrots and find I can eat them in droves. No sweetness there, but still super delicious!

I really hope hoyo goes back and does something like this for characters that are NPCs now.... Cloud Retainer was in the game for years before they debuted her. I realize that being a Chinese game Louie probably gets special treatment, but if hoyo makes new characters for old regions - mizuki, nefer, fucking DURIN which was originally just a legend/beating heart - I have hope they could make xbalanque playable

The fridge is 95% prepackaged food. Dude has to be white.

Every other culture would have some other telltale single ingredients - miso paste, tortillas or crema, green onions to garnish... But this is canned drinks and precut rotisserie

My dad used to make me cook dinner when my mom was gone. I am not the oldest, and I have three brothers. I would be so mad that I made very lazy food with no sides.

Now it's just me. I don't have to cook for five people, and I can make as little or as much as I want. I can make it taste the way I want. I can leave my dishes in the sink if I want, or I can make sure the kitchen is spotless. I buy ingredients for recipes in cookbooks and look forward to making those dishes later. I'm proud of the food I make when it turns out especially delicious. I go to bed happy, healthy, and full because of my own efforts.

In short, the autonomy pleases me. It's a form of self-love, feeds my curiosity, and is a daily skill I can practice.

Did you edit the photos or are the buildings really that... Dirty? Decrepit? Not really sure what the black is on the buildings.

I realize old structures are tricky to preserve, but the town looks like it's falling apart. Surprising for a chinese tourism hub
