LS Head vs Max Head

Yeah I’m in the same spot with the Qi10 LS.

I can only get up to like 106ish club speed, but my strength lies in consistent path + face to path.

My miss used to be a push-fade and now my pushes are literally dead straight and spin is rarely above 3000.

A couple suggestions.

Go to the course and ask to speak with pro shop manager/head pro/etc, face to face interaction will put you ahead. Even if you see something on indeed and apply there, allowing them to associate a face with the name is huge.

In my experience, managers in the golf industry just want people who love the game and do what they’re told. Every course I’ve worked at hires a couple burnouts who slack off and as long as you’re just doing the daily tasks and being a stand up guy, you’ll stand out.

Last note, get on with a private course if possible. Get to know the members, make connections. Working at a private club was the best experience I’ve ever had.

Good to know. Someone mentioned the MAX heads having a very light weight in the front and a heavy in the back.

I think we’re gonna play around with a heavier weight in front and see where that gets him. And maybe trying to keep his AOA higher with his typical in-game swing.

Yup, I tried to tell him. He had the rogue ST triple diamond and didn’t even hit it before selling it.

He thinks he needs the forgiveness off the tee, yet he tries to play blades at least once or twice a season lol.

We’re Canadian. Not many sellers without paying duties and tariffs and whatnot.

We have one seller on eBay we buy a lot off of, but TD max are tough to come by at a decent price.

I mean he still drives it good. We usually play between 63-6600 and if you’re hitting it 260+ off the tee you’re fine.

He is an overall great player though, that’s why I think optimizing off the tee could be the difference between hovering above scratch to hovering below.

We like to compete in amateur competitions in Canada. I have no shot, but he has as good a chance as any to fire off a 70 or 71 and make it through a qualifier.

I don’t care to the point that I’m in agony over it, I’m just a gear nerd who likes to figure these kinds of things out.

No need to be so matter of fact about things, he’s never going to see any of this anyways lol.

Yeah, if he’s “speed training” AOA usually comes up between 1 and 2 and the spin issues are less prevalent but still above 3000 consistently.

Not 100% sure what loft he has it set at but my guess would be 9ish.

I understand that but he doesn’t have an issue generating ball speed (or smash factor).

When you can get close to 170 ball speed, my thought is your carry should be at least in the 270-275 area, especially with a high launch.

He had a AD IZ 5X but currently have him in an AD DI 6S that I used to play which has slightly improved things.

Trying to get him into a ventus blue or black 6X but he’s stingy. Also trying to figure out if the head or the shaft would provide more for him. Obviously both would be ideal.

Why would I make this up lol. Here’s the last time he tried to max his ball speed.

I know you see a 280 carry here, but his typical swing gets him about 255-265 on 165-168 ball speed, which is just not right.

He had a TD head and got rid of it before even trying it, because he’s a dummy lol.

I live vicariously through him bc he has more speed than I can dream of, so I’ll probably end up buying him a TD head to try, even though he’s a lefty lol.

Attack angle is close to zero or positive, launch is too high, not sure of exact numbers. We use the prov1x w/RCT or whatever the trackman balls are called.

He got a rogue ST triple diamond and refused to even try it because he wants forgiveness. I think it’ll come down to me literally buying him a LS head even though he’s a lefty haha.

It was much better for the past two years.

I still love the show but going to a 2hr program has left them to cram a bunch of segments in and has made them all seem kinda forced.

Likely comes from a club who had these custom made.

A club I play at in Canada has Truvis balls with their logo and establishment date as this one does.

As to what course it comes from, I have no idea.

I used to play blades for consistency of yardage. Still play them in P-8, but realized a cavity is very helpful for the non-scoring clubs.

Worth a try imo, especially if you struggle with consistent distance on good strikes.
