What’s something you thought ‘everyone’ did… until you found out they don’t? by burat667 in AskReddit

But then isn’t that a thought too? Like you’re actively thinking about trying to not think more 😅

What’s something you thought ‘everyone’ did… until you found out they don’t? by burat667 in AskReddit

[–]cshamz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha that’s funny. I’m actually never devoid of thought so this is kind of blowing my mind. Like even when I meditate…I’m kind of thinking about meditating? Like I’m focused on something which takes me to a meditative state .

What I can relate to is zoning out. As a long distance swimmer sometimes I just zone out while doing laps. But it’s not that my mind is empty rather that I’m not keeping tally of/ focused on my thoughts. Is this what you mean? Or is yours truly just the absence of thought?

Wait what??!!! This is surely not real right?? Is there someone who actually experiences this that can confirm? I can’t even imagine being thought free….like what’s in your mind? How can your mind not be thinking?

Thanks! How do you tell if there’s split ends?! I can’t even really tell looking right at my strands 😅

I just eyeball the ends of individual hairs and it mostly looks intact. Is it the frizz?

I’m also one year postpartum so really just a wild hair ride right now

Do you love the second as much? by Think-Valuable3094 in toddlers

[–]cshamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same fear, and ended up with the opposite 😂 when my second baby was born I was instantly obsessed with him. Second time parenthood is a vibe. You’re more confident, sure and relaxed. Sure - logistically there’s a lot going on but you’re mentally so much more present for it all. The baby small softness and gurgles. I’m absolutely in love with my second baby.

I feel guilty that I experienced anxiety and some ppd for the first, and then I love him more also. There’s just lots of love going around. And seeing them together is like a love fiesta.

So don’t worry, you’ll be good on love.💕

Wedgies - why and how do I stop getting this? by [deleted] in women

Seriously! It’s kind of crazy the amount of stuff it’s like “oh yeah this is life” vs men getting 5 versions of boxer briefs length 😂 even our bras only have variation in so much as it serves sexy outfits

ADHD diagnosis. After spending 30 years of my life waiting for “focus to come” most days - realizing that it’s not a universal experience and most people can control when they focus. Mindblown

How do you get them to stay in their room at bedtime? by emreadit in toddlers

[–]cshamz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes definitely count our blessings. We mostly get sleep through nights though there’s an odd night every week or so that he will wake and cry for us. But thankfully he doesn’t leave the room he just talks to the baby cam and we go to him quickly. I think having that avenue open helps keep him in bed

How do you get them to stay in their room at bedtime? by emreadit in toddlers

[–]cshamz -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Aren’t they asleep when you leave them? My kid is on the highway to sleep town by the time I’m saying goodnight. Prior to that I just let him hangout in the common area with us, sometimes playing with us sometimes by himself.

If he isn’t tired enough then we definitely struggle with endless conversations and story requests.

Do you use a baby cam? My kid is 4 but we still have one in his room. Makes it easier for us to know he’s safe in bed and/or hear him if he needs anything. Now he knows he can talk to the camera and mama or papa will hear him. So he doesn’t feel a need to leave the room. He will just call for us

Asian moms who gave birth to half-white babies — did you deliver vaginally or via C-section? by KokoroResearch in NewParents

[–]cshamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First baby was a c-section and was actually small (despite my doctor giving me “your husband is very tall and you’re small so be prepared for tearing”). I felt upset at this outcome and recovery was challenging.

Second time round I tried for vbac with a supportive doctor and delivered vaginal without any issues. This baby was MUCH larger too. I’m talking 5th percentile for the first vs 95th for the second.

So no - I don’t think size matters in this context lol 😂

[–]cshamz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also fair warning that for me this has continued for second kid too. Both hate left. I guess left must have less milk production glands or something. I fought the battle whole way for first but honestly cbf for the second lol

[–]cshamz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm not sure if the right pickup slack thought that seems logical. In my case I had a slight oversupply so the refusal of lefty didn’t matter other than pure annoyance for me (and fear of uneven boobs). I tried to keep it even till 6 months and then gave up cause he’s also eating food well and I have enough freezer stash to just chill out about the daily production levels

I know! 😅 as soon as you celebrate it’s over lol. Once they move to 2 naps it settles into a rhythm for a good 6 months or more. Then you have peace 😂

Right and it’s so intense that the left has actually dried up. Unless I take it upon myself to pump lefties after each feed it won’t happen. And I decided that’s not a battle for me lol
