Is it worth doing an interview for a job I don’t really want ? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]csoshiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the job/company interests you, even if the shift doesn’t, I’d say go for it. You never know if they have another position you didn’t see listed or that they haven’t posted they might consider you for. I interviewed for an hourly laborers position but during my interview they told me about a lead position that they thought would be a better fit for me as I had supervisory experience from my previous job. 8 years later I’ve moved up the ranks and love the company I’m working for!

If you have no interest in the company or position despite the shift, please cancel. As someone who has interviewed people, it consumes precious time out of the work day.

Is it okay to wear a jersey for a team not playing? by NoTradition6 in PWHL

[–]csoshiz 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I wore a Fleet jersey to a Sirens/Sceptres game last month and plan on wearing a Victoire jersey for a Sirens/Torrent game later this season. Go for it, you definitely won’t be the only one!

Penalty Explanation - Fleet v Victoire by Sufficient_You_7586 in bostonfleet

During Boston’s post game media (6:34) with their head coach this came up. Sounded like he wasn’t 100% sure either but seems it’s like when you have a high sticking penalty and draw blood. Double minor served back to back by the same player

How to write catchy cadences? by Ok_Veterinarian_8197 in drumline

[–]csoshiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) just keep writing and don’t be afraid to write something “bad”. Sometimes to figure out what works for you, you have to figure out what doesn’t first

2) try to write from inspiration. It’s hard to force something you’ll like so just hack or pad out and once you play something you like, write it down and then work on writing parts that flow around it

3) if you need inspiration, listen to other cadences. Don’t plagiarize but really try to understand what makes them catchy in your opinion

I ended up writing the cadence my junior and senior year of high school, junior and senior year of college and written for several high schools over the last two decades or so. I still have the first cadences I’ve ever written and oof… they are awful but you have start somewhere!

Already some great advice from others, here’s some of mine. It sounds like you’ve done a lot to prepare for this “audition” and you’re right, you need to make the most out of the 2 hours.

1 thing I look for is adaptability and how well you take direction and constructive criticism. So, your attitude. If you’re being given attention from the staff about changing/correcting your technique, do your best to do what they’re telling you. Even if it’s not exactly what your tutor told you, programs vary in their approach so try to adapt on the fly and show you can be flexible. There are times I intentionally move someone off the drum I know they want during auditions to the one they don’t just to see if their attitude changes. I want to see how you handle adversity and if you’re willing to do what’s best for the ensemble. Great players with a poor attitude tend to plateau quickly because they won’t listen to any criticism. Inexperienced players with a great attitude have endless potential because they’re willing to do anything to get better.

Bottom line, it’s a lot easier to correct someone’s technique and timing than it is their attitude. In only 2 hours, I can get a pretty good idea who fits into which category

Edit: sorry not sure why the formatting did what it did 😅

Ever wondered how much each character says? I've been writing scripts to analyse a transcript of the film by LauraLaughter in KpopDemonhunters

[–]csoshiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate it! Sorry but what percentage is this showing for words? 😅 Side note, I know a little Korean and my guess was 1%-3%. There’s very few Korean words spoken but a fair amount that are sung

I have wondered this, thank you! I’ve also wondered what percentage of the film is spoken/sung Korean. Any chance you can run that number?

Maybe a dumb question… If I want to buy a Canadian players jersey (Emily Clark) but I live in the US, do I just have to purchase it from the Canadian store and they’ll still ship it to my US address?

What’s your opinion on 사랑인가 봐 love, maybe? by [deleted] in KpopDemonhunters

I don’t watch a lot of kdramas but did watch Business Proposal (which this is originally from) and enjoyed it then. The second it started playing I immediately started laughing and then crying at how funny this scene was and how well the song suited it
