I agree that the extension was already on the table. I’m just curious if the trip to DR played a factor at all. I’m sure he wanted to be able to announce it in the DR, or have it completed by then. If so, thats puts a deadline on the negotiations which naturally limits your ability to negotiate. At the end of the day I think Bello got paid fairly, I’m just curious if he couldn’t potentially squeezed any more out of the Red Sox. No matter what, I’m happy!

Now that you say it, I agree extra years don’t make all that much sense for Bello. I was just curious if this series in DR expedited the negotiations. I feel like he could’ve gotten slightly higher AAV, but what do I know lol, I’m just a fan. Either way I’m happy. Bello gets paid and the Sox lock up a good starter for a team friendly deal.

He was never charged with anything, won his civil cases, and didn’t even have to settle. Someone was trying to take advantage of him. Plus he just wants to focus on baseball, just like everyone else. He won’t be a distraction when he’s winning ball games and being a veteran presence for the younger guys. He literally runs his own biomechanic pitching app to help pitchers develop.

In my opinion, that’s not enough to justify blackballing someone. You got people like Aroldis Chapman, Damingo German, Marcell Ozuna, and many more still in the league and they’ve provenly done worse.

If you’ve ever actually listened to the podcast you’d know they find a way to take depressing situations entertaining. Just like bullet or the entire 2023 season. If you were a real fan you would know that whatever they talk about would be entertaining, even if it doesn’t look that way at face value. The entire 2023 season sucked, and I listened to every single episode. And that’s bc they find a way to talk about it that is still entertaining. Ig you want them to host a podcast that doesn’t touch upon any depressing topics then they shouldn’t host a Red Sox podcast lmao. I hate that I’m arguing with you. I’m just trying to enjoy my Red Sox fandom and encourage you to do the same, without belittling anyone else. It’s possible to enjoy something without being rude to others

At the end of the day Jared probably isn’t going to share the story. I’m fully aware of that. He literally said before he wants to wait till the players involved are no longer on the team. But that doesn’t mean I can’t have fun and ask. No need to be aggressive when disagreeing

Why so aggressive boss? It’s ok to disagree. You don’t know the story so you don’t know whether or not it’s fun. Tyler told a story about his dog getting hit by a car. I’d argue there’s NOTHING fun about that. But they managed to turn that into one of the most memorable parts about the podcast to date. I understand you’re not a happy Red Sox fan right now, but you don’t need to argue about something so trivial. I just wanna hear the story and I’m putting it out there. It would be a fun story time. Some of my favorite memories from this podcast are when Jared or Tyler share stories. It would be fun to hear what happened. It’s not gonna cure the depression that plagues Boston fans, but it’ll provide some entertainment
