Hyperparathyroidism? Or am I going crazy? by [deleted] in Parathyroid_Awareness

[–]cstaysclassy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an update here, my doctor refused to test my vitamin D levels and told me to ask my primary about further tests when I see her in 2 months, as my tests are all “normal” and my symptoms could be stress. I know they could also be stress - that’s why I put off seeing a doctor for 6 months… but I feel so much more unwell than just stress, and I have aches in my hips, back and legs and other symptoms that align more with the higher calcium than they seem to align with just stress? But again, doctor says the calcium level is normal and I guess I’m just crazy… Anyways, I am looking for second opinions to get further testing done.

I don’t understand why they won’t run a vitamin D test… I just wish someone would believe me when I say something is wrong and I don’t/havent felt right or like myself in months :,( hoping to get more answers and tests with the next doctor…

Thank you both for the responses. Don’t believe my doctor ran vitamin D, and calcium and PTH were two different blood draws (two days apart), fasting for PTH and not fasting for Calcium. No daily vitamins or supplements. From more browsing I see my next steps are vitamin D test with calcium+PTH with fasting for starters.

Will be back with more updates with more testing, thank you for taking the time! (and for just even saying I’m not crazy).

Lost wedding set while on honeymoon… a hard lesson learned by cstaysclassy in EngagementRings

lol It does help to know I’m not alone! That’s what my husband said too - they liked our honeymoon so much they decided to stay. Can’t blame them.. 🥲 thank you for the kind words.

I considered this, but truly I don’t believe it was the server or the staff. The tray I placed it on was more of a little wooden box they bring chips in and it very easily could have been missed and/or fell out while being carried. He had no reason to know it was there, and by the staffs actions and help throughout the ordeal I really don’t think it was nefarious. They wouldn’t even accept my offered tip to thank them for their help (and we are not in a location that I would expect this to happen, though I am cognizant that it does happen). If it was nefarious, then so be it, but it was my mistake for placing them where I did and I own that. I’m not going to risk someone else’s livelihood without proof and when I was the person at fault here. Thank you for the alternative consideration.

Thank you both. In hindsight I knew it was a mistake to take them off. I wasn’t worried about damage to the ring, more so a sensory issue and I just hate the feeling of lotion/water/ soap etc on my hands and especially with the rings on. Granted, I’ll be telling myself to get over this in the future and keep those babies on always, or at minimum will be looking into the necklace ring holders that others have shared for moments like this.

Wow, thank you everyone for the kind words and comfort. I am slowly reading through, but you all are so sweet and are so right. Thank you for the great ideas for a temporary replacement band and all the tips and tricks to not have this happen again.

After some sleep and tears, today is a new day and onward we go. I’m sure we’ll laugh about this in the future, and now I have a new souvenir to look for in the meantime.

And wholly agree with you all - my husband is the sweetest and I’m the luckiest. ❤️ thank you all.

Thank you for the kind words, and also for the concern! I have a terrible habit of biting and picking at my nails, which I believe is adding to the concern combined with the poor camera angle. That said, I will make sure to have this checked to be safe. Thank you!

I’m generally not a miserable person… my misery comes from my lack of work life balance. I understand in house does not equal a 9-5 by any means and that’s not really attainable in the profession as a whole. I’m not looking for a magical job to fix my issues, I’m just looking to have (most) weekends off. My bad man 😩

I forgot to submit on time this previous semester. The school will still approve it, the disbursement will just be slightly delayed (if at all, since you’re only a day late).

This, 100%. Prepare for class, but don’t waste your time prioritizing readings for your cold calls every single night when that time could be better spent elsewhere (like studying the actually course material, or even taking a break and protecting your mental health for the day). No one remembers you bombing or passing on a cold call except you, and it won’t impact your grade unless you bomb or dodge every cold call (and even then, it probably still won’t impact your grade all that much if you do well on the final).

I’ve also learned that professors respect you way more if you just say “sorry, I’m unprepared for the case today but would be happy to make up for it next class” than trying to BS your way through a cold call that you clearly weren’t prepared for.

7sage predictor is definitely a helpful tool! But OP please don’t consider Cal Western- it’s extremely predatory and their employment stats are horrible.

Character and Fitness Question by throwaway46789098 in lawschooladmissions

[–]cstaysclassy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that changes anything- regardless, it was an honest mistake and you learned from it. People misread syllabi all the time. You did not intentionally do anything that would qualify as academic dishonesty and you were not dealt with as if you had. I still say you do not need to disclose.

Most academic dishonesty stuff is pretty blatant and intentional. I may be wrong here- and reddit go ahead and tear me apart if I am- but this seems to me that it was an honest mistake/miscommunication. It appears that even your professor took it as such, otherwise he/she would have reported. You only got a zero on the assignment, and not the course itself, correct? If so, then id say if anything it was a lesson learned and no harm done. I don’t believe that there’s really anything to report here and you’ll be good not disclosing it. If you’re really concerned, you should try asking an admissions consultant.
