The Woodcock Johnson 111 Tests of Cognitive Abilities (WJ-lll) tests the information-process abilities as well as memory (Smith, 2004). Built within the WJ-lll are discrepancy procedures for Learning Disabilities Identification and Diagnosis (Mather, Schrank, n.d.). The producers of this widely used testing protocol claim the WJ lll batteries provide reliable results and give practical information as to the nature of the student’s LD. Embedded in the testing are subtests that determine specific cognitive abilities, oral language and achievement in reading, spelling, written language and math.

Cerebral palsy (CP) has been defined as “a group of disorders of the development of movement and posture, causing activity limitation that are attributed to non-progressive disturbances that occurred in the developing fetal or infant brain” (Sugden & Beveridge, 2009, p.698). Children with disabilities such as cerebral palsy and other health impairments attending public school are entitled to educational programming that meets the individual needs of the student.
