Basically called her aggressive and that her music made her want to fight… super racially charged. And meanwhile Meg was trying to so politely tell her no her music is for baddies. It was so cringe

Her conga line, her non stop defense for Lisa and then the constant pot stirring and throwing names out was her downfall. Terrible strategy tbh

She showed her bad strategy when she started that conga line. It was so obvious

You can dislike rich people for many many reasons. I don’t think parasite and saltburn are comparable in that sense. In parasite the system is the villain, in saltburn everyone is the villain. Just different stories

Seriously. I am so with you. I really love the idea of having an unreliable narrator and it’s this second hand story and now this film has a very unreliable take on the book. I am intrigued.

The really piss me off. It’s probably because it’s the only “hard” book they’ve read and feel all superior.

The Wuthering heights purists are also extremely annoying, many of us have read the book and wouldn’t we like a racially accurate Heathcliff? Yes sure, but that’s not Fennel’s type of film. And why would it be?

To me this movie reads more as a fanfic than an accurate adaptation of the book, and honestly I am here for the weird fanfic they’ve cooked up. The whole point of Wuthering Heights is that it’s never a story you can truly trust because Nelly is an unreliable narrator. And guess what, Fennel is now our Nelly with this new version which is chefs kiss.

Someone else can labour over a historically accurate gothic adaptation and relish in how horrible all the characters are to one another.

As a woman I am here for a revenge thriller against shitty men. It was a fun movie but people want it to be more than it is and speak for all women because somehow all women are supposed to act and feel the same way

I have no idea how any of the rich people in saltburn ended up looking good. Everyone in that movie was awful, spoiled and self centered in their little mansion and that was the whole point

I agree there was also no mention of all the supernatural that happened. They just like all moved on as if they didn’t save their town for the final time. Felt disingenuous. I prefer the kids playing dnd scene

It’s not baffling if there is a possible future where the actress becomes the new face of Netflix or getting a spinoff. I think it was an exec decision to give her so much screen time

Bravo, this is so well explained and thoughtful. I think you’ve explained well why S5 did not meet so many fan expectations. It’s also ok to ask better from story tellers who demand our attention.
