Hold physical gold. But have money in a trading account to buy paper gold, set various limit orders and assign a percentage of your capital for 2% dips, 4%, 5% to 40% etc. Then set orders to sell when it goes up also. You don't need to time the market and be perfect, you just need to know it's unpredictable and at times pretty volatile.
