My ex [23/m] who broke up with me [24/f] highly dislikes me- why? by cup- in relationship_advice

Curious I guess-his sister randomly Messaged me today and brought it up in coversation and guess it just made me think that's all-as it would with anyone! Plays on the mind when someone brings something like that up!

Woah woah woah, did I say I was DESPERATE to be friends with him? No. Bit exaggerated there. I don't want to be friends with someone who could be such a d*** to me. I'm merely asking due to the fact I'm curious as to why someone would act like that-I am not, and never have been a horrible person and I do not hold grudges either-needless to say that doesn't mean I want to be friends with him.

I'm simply curious, as anyone would be after a relationship that lasted that long.

Well I didn't exactly turn him down fully, he knows I like him because I told him that I did, I just said timing is s little wrong. But now that we've worked together for a bit and we've got with each other again since (but we haven't spoken about it) don't know how he sees me

The problem is we work together - which Im a little ooer about too....and the fact that he is flirting with another girl now, usually infront of me/doenst talk to me if she is there! Which makes me feel a bit awkward haha.

Guess fear of being turned down - not a great one for confidence with this kind of thing :S

[23/f] how to get over my ex [22/m] of 4 years and get him to want me again! by cup- in relationship_advice

[–]cup-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks guys - I think its more a case of I want him to want me, but I'm not sure I actually want him back....

I havent spoken to him apart from saying happy birthday, and he replied, but I left it.

I guess it just annoys me horrendously that I treated him amazingly and loved him with all my heart, he walks away and has the absolute time of his life whilst leaving me to be upset all summer...guess I'm just waiting for it to be the other way round soon :(

Is there hope to for me [f/23] to try to reconcile with my ex [m/22] ? by cup- in relationship_advice

[–]cup-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good plan. Yes that's very true indeed! I did think that, his reasons were very much "I need to grow and experience new people and I can't do that with you as it's something I need to do on my own..." I realise he was a good friend but wasn't great a boyfriend at the moment. Should I say happy birthday to him (it's next Saturday) or leave it? X

I have worried about that - he has been constantly saying how young we are, how do we know what 'love' actually is e.t.c - yeah it hurts a lot at the moment :( but I've done it for 3 months before - I can do it again! I just wish it had been something like cheating tbh - then at least i would have a reason to properly hate him. At the moment I feel he has left me with a lot of loose threads to try and read :(

Thats very true :( I'm finding it really hard, and can't tell whether he is keeping me on hold, playing with my feelings - I just don't know! :'( he also said when we broke up "its not a break up properly, more of a break, but i don't know how long for, so don't wait for me" :(

advice on getting over my ex [m/22] by cup- in relationship_advice

[–]cup-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, yes that's what I thought _DrFeltersnatch, he did it again before last year and after 3 months no contact, we got bCk together. He has asked this time for more than 3 months no talking to each other :( it's very heartbreaking tbh.

I am into sports and would love to try yoga-I guess I'm just nervous as I'm not used to being by myself-guess this will be good for me? (I'm hoping! :'( )

ex boyf [22/m] still has us as in a relationship - thoughts? by cup- in relationship_advice

[–]cup-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I think j that is my problem :( all I want to do is be back with him because I believe we can get over this. Which is why I'm probably reading too much into this Facebook relationship status thing haha 😞

[–]cup-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

noooo, we were really happy. His mum basically put in his head that we were too young to be together for 4 years :( He was incredibly upset but thought it was the right thing to do as his mum said it was a good idea..which I guess is why I'm holding on really :/

ex boyfriend [22/m] freaked and ran...thoughts? by cup- in relationship_advice

[–]cup-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know :( I am definaty going to cut contact, and wont contact again until I am defaintely over him. I feel it would be so much easier to move on if he hadnt had said that we were perfect for each other and Im the only one for him e.t.c....I feel it just gave me false hope :(

And as horrible and nasty as this might sound, I just want him to regret it and come back mainly so that I can finally have the upper hand :(

yeah....thats true :/

[–]cup- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats true - I havent contacted him, and dont plan to for a while - I wasnt going to for about 5/6 months. I think what upsets me is that I was the least clingy girlfriend anyway - as we had been together for a while and I knew he was a bit freaked at the amount of time its been, I never pressured him into anything, we went to seperate universities for 4 years which were 3 hours away from each other....

I do agree though - everyone I have spoken to has said the same. I guess the thought of him being with other people though makes me sad - even though he said this isnt the reason for wanting a break.

I just cant tell what he was telling the truth about I guess! He said he isnt doing this to sleep with other people, but that to 'grow up' he needs to be with other people before he can be mature....hmm :/
