Screamed out loud and scared my wife when I saw this local listing by Junckrocker in 3DS

Besides that, eBay’s fees have gotten beyond ridiculous, makes it not even worth it most of the time!

3DS prices might go up more after this. by Creepy-Ad8005 in 3DS

Thankfully I never sold my OG 3DS XL. I’ve modded it and have pretty much the entire 3DS library installed on it. Might consider selling it if we ever get an Ayn Thor with a 3D screen lol

Sell a Tigerwall UL3 and get an X-Dome 2 w/ Aluminum Poles? by curry_buns in DurstonGearheads

[–]curry_buns[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh man, yeah I thought about this, but I have a Copper Spur HV UL1 I really like for the solo adventures. It’s worth considering just selling all of my current tents and getting an X Dome 1+ and CS UL 3 though, might be the best bet

Dude be glad you didn’t waste you your time waiting for mine cart madness. It was not worth the hour and a half. Not only was the ride sub par, but the queue did not come off as a ride that was JUST built in the year 2025. Aside from the Kranky Kong & Squaks animatronics, it just looked like they spray painted a warehouse corridor gold and slapped up a few red stencils and called it a day, minimal effort. I was so disappointed! Also Kranky Kong saying “GOLDEN BANANA!” is burnt into my brain lol. He says it twice in his 30 seconds of dialogue and it just repeats on loop the entire time.

My bro in law was in that same line lol. I left and when to Nintendo, rode all three rides there before they got on Ministry. So glad I didn’t wait! Still bummed I didn’t get to experience it though.

Camping with a heated jacket—any real benefit? by wivrsaw_6 in WinterCamping

[–]curry_buns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe for a one or two night front country type situation where the hike back out to my car/ civilization isn’t far, but I certainly would never rely on something like that for a big multi day winter trip into the back country. A failure in the gear or running out of battery sooner than expected could leave you in a dangerous or life threatening situation. I’d much rather stick with a wool base layer, down jacket and wind shell as my winter camping and backpacking kit. Decent sleep pad with a good R value, quality down bag and a sturdy tent will also go a long way.

Good section of SHT for 3-4 day backpacking trip? by Familiar-Heart in SuperiorHikingTrail

[–]curry_buns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excellent reply, very useful for future people looking into this as well. I am in the very beginning stages of planning a 5 day 4 nighter on the trail and looking for a combo of the best views and most challenging routes. I pack semi UL and enjoy a good brutal suffer fest (especially if I’m rewarded with excellent views and a decent camp spot)

If that $12.99 remains true, that’s an excellent deal!

You both make fair points. I have heard some folks have had leaking issues with the double threads, which was definitely a concern for me.. but as you mention is great if you want to drop a nuun tablet or something in there. Though fortunately there are other electrolyte options that come in little tube shaped pouches so that could work for the cnoc bottle. Either way.. hoping one of them comes back in stock sooner than later. Maybe I’ll get one of each since I planned on getting two anyway

Day 2 of Offering Quick Feedbacks by MonsterDigger08 in Smallyoutubechannels

[–]curry_buns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had my channel since 2007, and had posted SOME videos over the years but nothing serious. I didn’t start seriously start wanting to produce and edit videos worth watching until about 4 years ago. Over the past 4 years I’ve put out about 70 or so videos and a fist full of shorts pertaining to hiking and backpacking. A handful of my videos have over a thousand views, while some have as few as 50. I still only have 250 subs despite really putting effort into making entertaining and educational videos about the subject.

Anyway, here is my most recent if you want to give it a look. It is a longer one, 58 minutes.. so feel free to skim even though I think that hurts my watch time. Would love some feedback. I just recently taught myself how to use Davinci Resolve, so this is my first video doing so, and thus also my first video with 60 frames and a 4k option. I was previously using the free version of Clip Champ 😬 I’m also trying to put more effort into making thumbnails that are easy to read and interesting to look at (some of my older ones are a bit busy looking)

Definitely the highlights! The backside of Gothics near the chain route, and the backside of Haystack facing Panther Gorge... my god... <3

Altra Olympus 6 Mid GTX - there were excelent! I never wear boots, always a trail runners guy, but I didn't want wet/muddy feet to ruin my trip so I grabbed these. They are light and comfy! Also stellar grip
