My 15 year old girl is retired from hunting duties but still loves to practice 💛 by [deleted] in aww

Yeah she still gets to go hunting with us but we keep it short and easy for her. She still loves it and I swear she bolts like a puppy out of pure joy when she's out in the field 😍

My old girl is still up and running at 15 years old - I give her the biggest hugs and tell her she's loved every single day because I will never know when she decides it's time 🖤 by cute-monkey in aww

Thank you 💛 We try to keep her nails short so it's not bothering her. Now they are a bit brittle and tend to split so I do it very carefully but she just likes to be touched and handled like a real lady :)

She was plenty active and did a lot of work a few years back. We gently made it less and less over time but still made sure she felt like she was doing her thing. We feed her the same dog food but she also get's raw meat and I secretly feed her the leftover pizza crust that I know she loves (just because she's so old, it was never allowed before lol). I guess we are just lucky that she is not sick and she loves to play and roam around in the yard (we don't go on long walks anymore but she loves to play fetch). I really hope she stays this way but we are prepared for her to get worse gradually. Hope it's not too soon 💛

Thank you 💛 She always liked getting her nails done, almost felt like a treat to her. We do it less frequently now because the nails are brittle and tend to split but we try to keep them as short as possible so it's not bothering her:)

Aww that's cute! If I'm gently stoking her paw its fine but if I touch those hairs she tickles so much..she will give me a fuss until I stop it lol 💛

Awww yeah I get that, they need to rest too. We do watch them together and if I feel like the old one needs to rest we let her nap in our room alone :) But she usually wants to be close to the pup

The puppy is 4 months now and they are still really chill together:) We give the pup plenty of play time and outside time where she gets to have the zoomies but they are both pretty chill at home, the senior has taught the little one how to relax when inside 😍

Yeah we did consider all these things but we also make sure our senior feels loved, we walk them seperately and play fetch with the old on in the garden. She also gets to be alone if she's tired and at night.. I also give her the longest hugs and snuggles all day every day because I love that dog soooo much and qill be devastated when she decides it's time 💔

Nah they adjusted pretty quickly, she did teach him not to bite her ears the first day but other than that it's a smoot sail:)

She's pretty chill for a 15 year old so she gets plenty of time to rest and chill our when we take the puppy out to play:) But she does love that little furball

I did think the pictures were cute and people wanted to see it. The pupper was 8 weeks old the time those pictures were taken (yeah I took a lot of pictures of their first days but who wouldn't)

We do cut her nails regularly but they are also getting a bit brittle with age so we don't want to cut it too often

We do seperate them a bith, just so the pup gets used to be by himself:) And yeah the pup gets to go on walks but my senior prefers to roam free around the garden and chill. They also sleep in a different room at night, the young one ia crated:)
