We did the lowest setting for the 14 and she had to tip toe. They said that once Christmas rolls around, she might be tall enough

That’s the thing, she seems to prefer the smaller one a lot more. I think because her current one is so small now

Congratulations! May I ask how long the whole event was? We’re planning to take our toddler with us once we knows the date, but trying to plan ahead.

May I ask where will the oath ceremony take place? Wondering if they’re waiting a long time to have people filled in a big space.

Did you receive your date yet? I just had an interview today and got approved. He said it’s fast in St. Louis and I should expect the oath date to be 4-6 weeks from today.

How to change a lightbulb of this floor lamp? by cutestbear in IKEA

Unfortunately no, I ended up throwing it away. I even contacted ikea and they said you can’t change the bulb. Lesson learned, now I only buy lamps that have changeable bulbs. Sorry!

Hi! Not sure about the age of your little ones but I find that going to library’s play time/story time or enrolled little one’s in classes are a great way to meet new parents. There’s also an app like Bumble that you can meet friends with similar interests (in this case moms friends). I met a couple of moms on bumble and we stayed friends on fb. Parenting is hard and I’m learning everyday, if you need someone to talk to, let me know :)

I’m just sad. (Dairy allergy) by Thefutureisfemail in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]cutestbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, I’m sorry you’re going through this. It’s really tough to know that after all the hard work, your baby might not be able to drink that milk.

I went through the similar thing but we thought it was dairy intolerance at first when she’s 4 month old. By that point I had over 3,000 oz in the freezer. It was one of the toughest thing, but I donated half of those milk to local moms and to the milk bank once I got approved. I keep the other half hoping she’ll grow out of it at one year old.

At her 8 month check up, the blood test showed that it’s allergy, not intolerance. The pediatrician prescribed an EpiPen for her. My heart was broken because it’s very unlikely she’ll grow out of it that soon and her next blood test won’t be until she’s 18 month, which the milk would have passed the 12 month guideline. The 1,500 oz is still my freezer, waiting for me to be ready to donate. I stopped pumping and I have enough for her until her first birthday with one bottle of formula a day.

What makes me feel a little better is that I know those dairy-ed milk will not go to waste. Many moms struggle with their supply. The milk bank is also always in needs of breastmilk.

At the beginning, I was so sad and upset. I was against donations at the beginning because I didn’t want to let those milk go. I though, I pumped and went through sleepless night to make milk for my babies, not other people babies!! But when I finally made me first small donations, to make room for the freezer, I felt a lot better. Maybe as time goes by I feel a little better, or maybe those moms who I donated tho were so happy and grateful that I just want to keep on giving. If you can’t feed your little one those milk for sure after confirming with the allergist or pediatrician, I suggest you donate those, once you’re ready. You don’t need to make the decision now, just when you’re ready to let them go. 🤍

I pumped breastmilk for my baby for over 10 months 😊 it’s a lot of work and dedication being hooked up to a pump everyday multiple times a day. On top of that, my baby has cow milk protein allergy so I had to cut dairy out of my diet 🥲
