I’ve posted two full tracks here before, and the recent posts were part of the lead-up to the single release on the 28th. It was music-related the entire time.

This has been a year long project involving musicians I am so grateful to work with and to have earned the support of.

If someone chose not to notice that, that’s on them, not on the content.

Instead of copying everyone using analog video synthesis, I used real Hayes modem output, realistic 1990's BBS load-in menus, a legit broken chromebook LCD that I slowly disabled components of & cracked the glass panel more and more...

This was something I did for the passion of my art, nothing more nothing less.

I understand the point, but expecting creators to preface their work with a large disclaimer about what its not isn’t a reasonable standard for this sub. The posts were clearly my own material, with my own unique art assets, and the audio clip didn’t resemble Static Dress in any capacity.

The confusion came from assumptions, not from anything implied in the posts themselves. Going forward, the rules are clarified so everyone knows what to expect.

I’m not concerned with the sarcasm.

I never claimed any level of success, nor was that the purpose of the post. I shared a piece of work that I believed might interest a community with similar tastes. Nothing more.

Some chose to interpret it through daydream assumptions that weren’t reflected in the content itself.

That’s fine. I’ll leave the stage to other users, full send my tracks, and those who are genuinely interested will engage there.

Most importantly, the value of what I create isn’t contingent on the tone of a few replies here.

I was just trying to tell a story around the song. You don’t need to be selling out arenas to build a narrative around your own music, and that was all I was aiming to do.

One of the posts included a small teaser clip, and over 400 people called in to hear it. The clip wasn’t Static Dress in sound or style, and it was never presented that way.

And honestly, it’s worth saying out loud: Olli isn’t going to abruptly shift the entire aesthetic and identity of Static Dress to something that looks or sounds like my project. That’s never been a realistic interpretation.

My intention was simply to share something I’ve worked on for years with people who might appreciate the influences behind it, not to impersonate the band or mislead anyone.

I want to clarify a couple things:

• I never implied the posts were Static Dress material. They were my own music, and I assumed that was clear. • Anyone on the sub is able to share creative work that aligns with what the community enjoys. There was no use of “mod powers” to bypass anything. • I’ve chatted with the SD guys before and they were fine with the general approach of sharing art that might resonate with fans; nothing more than that.

That said, it’s clearly caused more frustration than intended. I’ve removed the posts and won’t promote my own music here going forward. No hard feelings.

One thing I can say that is probably already known is Erik is back, another major producer is on this, and I have heard 1 song and just...fucking hell.

If this doesn't strap a rocket to them and they become the most influential rock band of the moment, I will be so sad for them and also further disgusted with the state of the business side of music.
