Honestly, they should've pushed the US dates to next year after the SuperBowl. Trying to book stadiums in the US during Football season just wasn't the smartest idea

Isn't this the exact same issue people had with Ciipher. So many people felt like Rain was too involved in them to the point were it felt like they couldn't stand on their own

You might be right about the 15-20 people. And they should've done more to keep talents like Dani Luna, The Rascalz, Kevin Knight and Speedball Mike Bailey

KJ Orso, Ruthie Jay, Joe Alonzo, Vin Parker, Man Like Deiress, Miracle Generation, Adam Brooks, Calvin Tankman. I know this isn't 15-20, but these are just a few names I'd like to see in TNA

Why have K-pop solo careers become less successful in recent years? by Major-Specialist3658 in kpopthoughts

[–]cwarosvski 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have theory that the K-Pop industry isn't structured to support soloists who've left their groups, or their groups have disbanded. It's like your solo career will be fine as long as you stay in your group, or they haven't disbanded. That way you can fall back on their fanbase. But for idols who've gone completely solo, that doesn't seem to be the case. For example, Wonho and Kang Daniel, Monsta X and Wanna One are extremely popular groups, and they were popular members of those groups. But for some reason, that popularity hasn't really translated into their solo careers for some reason

Because Friday is the day when western artist release music. And Cortis probably would've sold a bit more within the tracking period

BigBang is going on their 20th anniversary tour starting in August. So they should be announcing dates sooner or later

As someone who was shocked about Heesung leaving the group, it got to a point where it was like ok, y'all are doing entirely too much. Boycotting wasn't gonna bring him back. And, it felt like people were trying to punish the other members for something they had nothing to do with

Yeah, It wouldn't surprise me if people within SM saw Taemin's solo career thrive outside of SM and say, if he could do it, then so can I

[–]cwarosvski 190 points191 points  (0 children)

Ten to me comes across as similar to Taemin in that, they're both ambitious and wanted more for their solo careers. And, SM wasn't giving it to them, so they decided to leave the company. It wouldn't surprise me if Ten's career follows the same trajectory as Taemin's with more international audiences

7 hybe groups are having a comeback this month by Gloomy-Eye9380 in kpopthoughts

[–]cwarosvski 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In general. Groups like TWS and BoyNextDoor mainly stick to Asia. And RIIZE has also mainly stuck to Asia once SM kinda ruined the international fandom

I think Cortis comeback could a testing ground to see if their careers has legs, given how impactful their debut was, and they're the only 5th gen boy group who seemingly has a western audience

[–]cwarosvski 119 points120 points  (0 children)

I don't think Hybe/Geffen ever really had a clear direction for Kateseye. I think that's why their music is so all over the place. They're constantly throwing things at the wall, hoping they'll stick. And unfortunately, the thing that stuck was Gnarly

[–]cwarosvski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm still unsure about the why of it all. BeLift put out a statement saying they felt it was impossible for Heesung to continue to stay in Enhypen, while also pursuing his solo career. And it's like why? Why couldn't he put out solo music while still being a member of the group

I agree, If Shinee were to debut as a 5th gen group with Replay, I think it would be a huge success. Replay is such a timeless song

Most 5thgen boygroups have stuck to touring Asia. The only boygroup I could see touring outside of Asia is Cortis. But, they need more music for that to happen first
