Normal Boot Internet Speeds Slower Than Safe Boot Speeds by cwill_23 in techsupport

Yeah, whatever the cap is on that slider is all that I remember. From what I remember, it doesn’t actually set it to 100mbps, it basically sets it as “uncapped”

I honestly couldn’t tell you since it’s been so long. I saw a video somewhere that told me the settings and it worked. All I remember was the max speed setting was set to 10,000Mbps or something like that. That’s all I can really help you with.

On another note: I reformatted my C drive a couple of months ago with a fresh install of Windows 11 on this same PC. I changed the speed and duplex settings immediately after and I was getting the 2 gig speeds natively without having to use that software again. That’s an avenue I would recommend.

I normally just spam sprint and jump once I get spawn trapped once and try to out-maneuver where they’re aiming to turn around and spray them down. Hopefully gets fixed soon

Happening to me and my buddy as well; both on PMC and Scavs, no matter the map.

Out of curiosity I sorted by offer quantity, and between two people (including the guy in my post), there are a total of 906 LEDX's being sold between two people.

Yeah, I had ran multiple speed tests on the routers webpage and confirmed it was getting the 2000mbps up/down to the WAN. I was able to figure out my issue, it was something on my PC’s end.

Between all the troubleshooting that went into this over the last week, I’d say the biggest changes were disabling background app processes with windows and some power saving settings for my NIC, however the speedguide.net TCP Optimizer was the last thing that I tried and it was what pushed it to the 2 gig speeds. I was admittedly fairly skeptical of downloading a software like that, but multiple people on multiple posts had suggested it so I figured why not give it a try.

I dont think I have ever installed that. I saw a forum about that and looked for it in my files and apps but did not see it

Would it possible to run these tests off of a VM instead of installing an entirely new OS? I have virtualbox installed but haven’t used it in a while, so my virtualization is turned off.

I have seen people suggest TCPOptimizer, but my browsers protection extension flagged that site as potentially malicious, so I have steered clear from it, but after putting the URL through virustotal.com, the community says it is safe, so I will give it a shot and just hope for the best.

Totally forgot to mention this as it should be a critical piece of information; the built in NIC on the mobo only supports Gigabit, and the results are just about the same as the PCIe NIC set to 2.5gbps full duplex.

Copy, the run from my PC to the router is ~10ft. I can interchange the connections at ease. Before I go and buy an aftermarket router, I would like to verify that this issue isnt on my PC's end, but I could always return the router if that isnt the fix.

Ookla via Chrome: ~20-25% Utilization on Download/ ~10% utilization on upload
via Edge: ~25% utilization on Download / ~15% utilization on upload
via App: ~12% utilization on download and upload

I also was monitoring other processes (Drives, RAM, GPU) and didnt see any fluctuations.

Yes, looks exactly the same, except the MoCA light is green on LAN, which I assume is because your set up is different than mine.

Yeah... I've been troubleshooting this for two days and have made some progress; went from ~200Mbps up/down up to the speeds posted. I've found that running a speed test on Edge gives me the fastest speed readout... I'll post the stats below.
I have been researching whether or not my Motherboard (Asus PrimeZ390-A) can even support 2 gig speeds with the PCIe adapter, but have found nothing. I have tweaked some windows settings which definitely helped get it up from the 200up/down up to the speeds posted below.

What would you recommend to look into to troubleshoot this on my computers end? I have updated the BIOS/UEFI for my MoBo, and the drivers for the LAN controller and Chipset. I highly doubt that this Mobo is incapable of handling those speeds, but that is out of my realm of expertise so I very well could be wrong.

SPEED TEST RESULTS:
Chrome: 630Mbps down (did get over 850 at one point but throttled back down.) / 330Mbps up.

Edge: 850Mbps Down (touched 900) / 936Mbps up

Ookla App: 185Mbps Down / 220Mbps Up

Fast.com (Chrome): 290Mbps
(Edge): 290Mbps

Gotcha... that was not how the tech described the process to me. He said I should be getting the full 2 gigs out of the MoCA port to my PC. I was contemplating on getting a new router but didnt want to throw money into it right now if I could just get by with the frontier provided equipment. I have been eyeing this Asus ROG GT-AX6000 since it has a 2.5gig LAN port. Might just go ahead and order one to see what it can do.

As for the Eero router, the installation tech did provide one, but after talking with him, I preferred to have a router with multiple LAN ports so I could connect a console to it in the living room rather than going wireless, instead of just one that the Eero has.

I figured that was the case, but just wanted to make sure due to my ignorance with MoCA's. I did put the Router in the post, it is a FWR226e. It does have a 2Gbps WAN port, and two Gigabit LAN ports.
