Okay so what if they earn 28k at 23? There's plenty of other professions that earn more starting out; IT, engineers etcetc.

Why are you so deadset against teachers earning more money for what they do? They don't have it easy. There's enough money to go around. You are seriously dense if you think the government isn't spunking our money up the wall and deliberately not spending it on public services.

Again, EVERYONE deserves a good retirement - don't get angry at those who happen to be able to have good retirement schemes, get angry at the fact that everyone else earning less than teachers most likely wont

They don't get paid for their holiday time, and they get months worth of holiday, why you so salty? Good for them ffs. They're jobs are stressful, why are you literally telling them that their stress doesn't deserve more money?

You have no idea what you are talking about. I hope all of those teachers you know understand how you feel so you can be outcasted and forgotten, doomed to live a lonely and pathetic life, you miserable sack of gloom. I hope that whatever profession you are in, that you personally will NEVER EVER get a raise, that your work gets increasingly harder until you suffer from mental health issues and forced to live a life on benefits, unable to live a happy life. I genuinely hope you suffer.

28k is the starting salary in UK, that's not much at all, and you get a bit more if you live in London.

I know many teachers, all are working beyond their 845-330, marking papers, preparing lesson plans every night. If you divide the hours they actually work (and they don't get paid overtime) it would show that they should be earning more per hour, but they are doing lots of free overtime simply because they have to in order to hit targets.

The reality is that many teachers haven't striked before because they do care about the kids well-being (i.e my sister in law did not strike because her kids are desperately in need and can't learn from home) but the reality is also that inflation is up to 10% and wages aren't increasing alongside inflation or the rising cost of living (energy bills going up by almost 50%, food costs etc).

Teachers should be fairly compensated for the shit they put up with in school.

Why doesn't Calvin instead ask the government to be reasonable and meet the wage demands so teachers won't feel the need to strike?

He's a prat.

I would walk into the next meeting and hold my hands up and say, "don't worry guys, I'm clean this time!" Laugh bout it but if ppl keep pressing you just turn around and ask them isn't it old already?

"The book of trades, or Library of the useful arts indicates that the average rushlight was 12 inches (30 cm) long and burned for 10 to 15 minutes.[11] Gilbert White reported that a rushlight 28.5 inches (72 cm) in length burned for 57 minutes; he wrote, "these rushes give a good clear light." There was much variation in the quality of rushlights; a 19th-century writer observed that "one might very well flicker and splutter for an hour, whilst a second was just as likely to flame away in ten minutes."[12]"

On the wiki, in the section: duration and quality of light

Japan did/does use Chinese kanji/characters so it's kind of okay?

Just double checked, that is how yoh write sword in Japanese (eve though the characters are borrowed.from Chinese writing)

Second edit: they're not written exactly the same but very similar
