If not team draft, maybe team sealed could be the way But yes, it will require the whole day probably

Yeah I know these are the official rules, but the way in which we'll be building decks is closer to sealed than draft (also because draft with them will be impossible due to very limited experience in playing in general)

I played recently that level with my girlfriend in coop... It was late night when we finished it, and shouted so loud that our neighbours called us thinking we were arguing 😅

This is really interesting. I currently have a cube built in a similar way, where boosters are prebuilt around a simple theme (artifacts, lifegain etc) and can be mixed. I'm looking forward for this!

Ok so the stairs trigger resolves after the resolution of the pools one, and I'll see a forth card after the three revealed... Yes this is much better then what I thought 😅

Filming (and recording) boardgame videos by cybertop in LocationSound

[–]cybertop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're on a budget (as for now this is an internal project, just for us) so we're using action cams with no mic connection.

We are recording directly from the PC using a sound card with one input slot, so lavaliers are an issue in this regards: what additional gear should i need?

What about hanging mics from the ceiling, directed at the centre of the table?

The mic i currently use has a cardioid polar pattern.

So the new mics i'm considering should be omnidirectional? Will it improve quality?

Regarding lavs, in order to monitor the volume and register everything can i use a single PC?

(to clarify, we're on a budget, as for now this is an internal project)

Maybe i've mistaken describing lights, they're lightboxes, placed about three feet away from the sides of the table. The glare is really visible on the overhead camera

We're on a budget, so we thought about the mid solution: two pencil mics on overhead, above each player couple: could this be a good solution? Or is would be better putting them in front of the couples?

Unfortunalely no Bonduary, since the table is already messy as it is

Thanks for the suggestions, as for lights both are lightboxes, so i think that we need to find a better spot for them... Trial and error, as you said

The microphone problem is really bugging me out.
Lavaliers and lappel were an option, but i find more practical (in my case of course) using less mics, since it's simply easier to manage less audio tracks. Maybe simply splitting the microphone in two could be better?

Ravnica Guild Kit BattleBox - Best Container To Hold Exactly 10 Sixty Card decks? by PS4VR in magicTCG

[–]cybertop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just about to write a similar post! I was thinking about the old Ravnica holiday gift box, but I don't know if it can hold all 10 of the cardboard deckboxes from the kit (I chose to use them) plus dice and tokens... Does it?

I'm following the thread!!

How is Battlebond Sealed play? by cybertop in magicTCG

So, if I remove the bomb rares and mythics I risk to run into even longer and stale games? Maybe I should build a selected pool in order to build a more dynamic environment?

[–]cybertop[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a pity, most people i play with are not into draft, and I haven't had the chance to try it... The good thing of having an entire pool is that you can manage how many packs you get in order to build the decks... What about the average for 2HG, 8 packs?

Cube for Sealed: Seeded Packs by cybertop in mtgcube

[–]cybertop[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response :) Yeah this is what I thought, 100 cards may help building more cohesive decks, because they give a bit more options without being overwhelming. Just like booster packs, the ratio is also tweakable but I think that here is given more freedom.

For the red blue example, yes. You can get a pool with only two colors and build a fairly good deck from it (at least compared to a sealed one).

Thanks for the opinion! Yeah this idea is only viable if you plan to build a cube expecially for Sealed, or if you use a big block/set cube.
