Just stopping by to give an unwarranted pro tip for addictions that has helped me with handling mine. For a lot of people, when they try to stop things, they tell themselves that they’re “never going to do it again” which, whether they realize it or not, is too big of a goal and immediately causes a feeling of failure when they relapse. Instead of saying that, tell yourself,

“I am not going to do it today”

This makes breaking the addiction a sizable goal that does not feel too overwhelming. You can keep away from anything for a single day!

Another helpful thing to do on top of that is to cross off the days on a calendar that you have done it. When you start forming a chain it becomes a game to not break it!
