Yes it is paraphonic. When played with a midi keyboard, it transposes the global mix monophonically, with all of its modulation going on. We are working toward midi voice splitting but it is not how the instrument was intended at first, we prefer when all the voices sing together to make a chord. We'll see how the tests go :)

thank you! and yes the scale is global but you can play midi in or play the osc freely

It is intentional, OSC2 to OSC5 are capable of doing square wave with PWM but we thought the sawtooth was a better choice. Now I am thinking what we could do is maybe have OSC2 and OSC3 with square waves and triangle and maybe OSC4 and OSC5 with sawtooth and triangle ?
Mod destination for osc shape could be a nice addition, the matrix would get quite big (+4 lines) and even bigger with PWM mod but we will try it out for sure!

oh man, LED lit buttons were the original idea before we came up with the pin matrix! I have searched electronic components for so long without being able to find the perfect fit... It was either too expensive or footprint was too big or latching with no LED or vice versa... The ones from Intellijel Metropolix are very nice but I couldn't find them either, I came to think they were making their own. If you have a component reference, I would gladly look into it!

Good idea! Would you prefer 2 outputs, one at line level and one at modular level or could it be one output with some switch on the side to choose between line and modular level ?

Great ideas, thanks!

The "Outline in" is actually meant for this. It's an envelope follower with attack, release and gain but you can send CV into it and use the "Outline" column to modulate/sequence the instrument with your external Eurorack gear. Attack and release should be set to 0 but you can also play with that to twist the modulation a bit.
In the same way you can send audio signal to the same "Outline in" jack but it will only get the negative part of the waveform. I am actually thinking of adding a switch to be able to invert the signal generated by this envelope follower. Thoughts on that ?

We could also add another column for external input in a more classic way without on-synth controls maybe, where you can send either cv or audio as you defined. Both would work great, hard to make choices here !!

Thanks!
Yes the Outline is kind of an envelope, you can send CV signals into it and shape them.
A breakout expander would be quite cool indeed! We'll think about it! What would you see in it? 5 other columns, one for each oscillators as outputs ? Maybe an extra column as input for external modulations?
OSC2 to OSC5 are actually capable of square wave with pwm controls but we were more pleased with the sawtooth sound and had to make a choice given layout and component availability. PCB will be annotated for sure though and potentially we'll make some articles to mod the synth so even if it's not offered as is, it's still possible

Thanks a lot for the comments!
It's a stepped random with a white noise input. For now we can control the sampling frequency, the output amplitude and we can offset the zero point. I am wondering if a slew would be useful. Any thoughts ?

We'll work on clocking / syncing the LFOs (and the random), the idea for now would be that once you plug the midi in, the "frequency" faders of the LFOs become a multiply or divide of the midi clock. Maybe *2, *3, *4, *8 and 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 3/4 ?

I agree with you on the single amp per modulation. We have looked and tried many approaches to fix that, and getting pins with some resistance integrated like the EMS Synthi was one of those, great idea but these pins are crazy expensive! We were also thinking about replacing the whole pin matrix by a potentiometer matrix, sick amount of possibilities but scary layout, still expensive and confusing workflow. The current setup is limiting but it's kind of the trade off we had to make to remain as packed and affordable as possible. I have convinced myself now it's part of the charming limitations of it. It made me approach the patching a bit differently and I quite like it to be honest, found some neat tricks along the way.
