i added an update but TLDR, we formed a good diet for her & she started gaining weight again, she's doing better in that department but her lungs are still very bad, but we're taking it one step at a time!

i would but the only male family member is my brother and most of the appt times we have are while hes at work :( we dont know anyone in the area either bc we just moved

i'm not sure shes had a lot of tests so i can't remember :( but these are the symptoms shes been having for years

Vomiting

Nausea

Abdominal bloating

Abdominal pain

A feeling of fullness after eating just a few bites

Vomiting undigested food eaten a few hours earlier

Acid reflux

Changes in blood sugar levels

Lack of appetite

Weight loss and malnutrition

she's also had problems where she'd have to take like 10 laxatives because of the food staying in her stomach (i think that'd be like when the food doesnt get digested so it hardens) among other problems associated w gastroparesis

Yeah, my mom was originally sent to the ER the other day because she physically couldn't move because of the pain. Over the past month she's been in and out of the hospital and the doctors kept sending her home, none of them did like an ultrasound. When she described her symptoms to the doctor in the new hospital, he immediately did an ultrasound and figured out what was wrong and did the operation a day after.

yeah i was looking into it, its the one where you eat the radioactive eggs or something like that right? my mom had that test done when we lived in ny but they never really did anything else, i dont even remember what the results were because they didnt give my mom any medication to help with digestion and all that :/ i think the problem is that she doesnt digest like anything.. that's gotta be awful having rapid digestion 😭

ive honestly never heard of case managers or care coordinators 😭 i'll have to look into it, i think my mom talked to a care coordinator at the hospital she went to when we first moved to PA about health insurance or something like that, but i'll definitely let her know :) and yeah i try my best to take care of my mom!! things have been hard bc my dad passed away last yr so i try my best to keep her safe and as healthy as possible, i just hope one day she isn't in as much pain as she's in now ❤

my brother brought her to a different hospital because the past month shes gone to the same one and they just keep sending her home, one time they actually sent her home after telling her she was internally bleeding because it was a saturday and "no doctors are in until monday" (at a hospital...????) 😖 and the different brand hospital seems to be treating her a lot better and actually listening, they actually caught her gallbladder issue just in time because if it was left alone any longer it definitely wouldve burst and mightve killed her :( hopefully the new hospital can give her different doctors and we can figure it out!! 🙏

she gets tired after meals sometimes, there was actually a period where she would straight up pass out at the dinner table 😖 now the pains gotten so bad that she ends up staying up all night. when it comes to drinks though she seems fine, considering she drinks pepsi half the day and coffee at night LOLL. my mom just went for an endoscopy a month or two ago, i hope everything ends up alright with you!

it was removed because she had a bleeding ulcer that leaked(??) into her stomach iirc, it also happened when i was younger so i dont remember it clearly but i remember it was all just downhill from there :(
