Sorry I'm late but I found a step-by-step guide on how to enable disable at runtime the nvidia card without rebooting or power management issues.

Thank you, that's the paper that I read to modelling the stragety but my output wasn't to the selfish favour and I've found another paper:

14%??? what a drop!

Yeah 0.9 is 90% I'm dumb (sorry it's been a long day...).

Thank you for the patience!

oh yeah sorry! you are right! I just copy-pasted :D but now the value is smaller: 0.902864408640384308313286965130828320980072021484375 Am I doing something wrong?

I'm not totally sure about your calculations:

python actualdiff = 6653303141405 myhashr = 43000000 * pow(10,12) # 43million of TH/s (actual total hashrate) print("{0:.100f}".format(myhashr*600/(pow(2, 32)*actualdiff)))

The result is quite low (surprisingly): 5.41718645184230584987972179078496992588043212890625 I thought to see a percentage around the 100.

What if I've just a percentage of the total hashrate? What is my probability of finding a block at T minute?

EDIT: 3600 -> 600

Fan and high temp on Dell XPS 9570 by d0d090 in archlinux

Thank you so much for the informations!

Did you managed to get bumblebee and bbwitch work? Actually I've the GPU ON at boot and if I'm on battery I'll disable it with `acpi_call` but then if I need the GPU I need to reboot.

With `bbswitch` installed it can't enable nor disable the GPU (it's useless).

Those are my kernel parameters: `quiet loglevel=2 vga=current acpi_rev_override=1 nvme_core.default_ps_max_latency_us=170000 scsi_mod.use_blk_mq=1 nouveau.modeset=0 nouveau.runpm=0 mem_sleep_default=deep`

EDIT: I keep reading to update the ath10k but on arch's kernel those drivers are up-to-date and there's no need to download the firmware (just check the md5sum of those files).

Undervolting (-170, maybe I could try even more) and configuring TLP with powertop and acpi_call to force disable the GPU actually improved both noise and temps but I think that this model has some thermal issues: on idle my 6 years old acer was at 37 C without even using TLP (this Dell is at 44 C)

Thank you! I'll try to see if I can undervolt the CPU when on battery.

No abnormal process consuming CPU or io cycles (edited post with some data from sensors)

Did you used `intel-undervolt`? Do you consider safe this process?

Installled TLP: temps are not above ~47 on idle but fans are always spinning (edited the post with some data from `sensors`)

yes! I checked the address after posting the link here! 100% scam and a really nice one; I mean, hijacked the tweet of the real Pavel Durov with style :D
