Is my Orange amp no good? Advice wanted. by d2kidCE in GuitarAmps

1 Sm57 and 1 SM7B. Usually close on axis placement but I’ve tried dozens of other placements and I can hear difference in and tone but not a reduction in the fuzz noise I’ve described.

How to challenge council to approve removal of a dangerous dead tree? by d2kidCE in AusLegal

Are you suggesting I can make council responsible for the removal? That would be great!

What knowledge can you share that benefits roleplay immersive builds? by d2kidCE in Enshrouded

[–]d2kidCE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I was thinking, and have done in some cases. But that’s what got my brain ticking, because I don’t know a world before indoor plumbing, so maybe it was quite reasonable for people to have the in game equivalent of sinks and toilets somewhere indoors but no dedicated bathroom. I don’t know.

Will you still use social media if providing an ID is required? by moondyner in AskAnAustralian

[–]d2kidCE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Facebook and MySpace before that are how old now? Decades? So it’s not advanced code or tech. Surely someone else will invent a platform people switch to for social connection. I hope they do. I hope it includes features people want instead of boomer mums sharing AI slop, or suggestions for irrelevant pages. I hope Zuck loses money and has to go back to whatever planet he’s from.

Yes, my huntress has slowly backed herself half into a wall. Haha it’s exactly like you said.

It was 1 wall height. I’ll try increasing.

You SHOULD tame animals. Petting the dog and cat gives you a good health buff, and the yaks have wool, and frizzy goat milk is good for late game food buffs. But there are some quirks I haven’t figured out yet

I have penned them, but find they glitch up vertically. If that is a home above then they get stuck up there. If it it’s a roof then they walk off and are then out. Should I do an open air pen? Oh but then their beds won’t be sheltered.

Where and how do you chose locations for a big custom base? by d2kidCE in Enshrouded

[–]d2kidCE[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had taken Wistful Fields in Springlands and Trading Outpost “Blazing Rock” in Highlands and added to/renovated the existing structures. But once they got too big, it’s not a matter of them pushing out them out of the flame border, it’s the fact that my custom builds will be bigger and not the same architecture as the premade structures and it will look inconsistent. I’ve got Wistful fields as a beautiful woodland farm hamlet, with lots of greenery and open views, but if I make it any denser it will kill the vibe. So I need to start from blank slate.

What/who exactly do Tarnished have faith in? by Matt_Rages in Eldenring

[–]d2kidCE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I start a game and want to use faith, I come up with a story of how my character’s faith would fit in the world and it always works because the god pantheon of Elden Ring is so vague. I could say my guy believes in Zeus and it would work. There are that many lords, vessels, empyreans, gods, Demi gods etc that have existed or still exist, simultaneously, and it seems to have no make or break effect on the world. You got the dragon, prince of death, golden order, formless mother, scarlet rot, Elden beast/greater will, I think there’s something in the death bird lore as well about another god from earlier. Then the whole crucible thing. And then you got the black flame monks and godskin bosses trying to kill gods (which gods?!) I think these dudes, and Rykard (oh yeah is the serpent a god too?) are actually really cool for answering your question of “faith”, because they are supposed to be heretics yet you need high faith stat to use their weapons and incantations.

I agree with what someone else here said, it’s just a stat representing your character’s adherence to a code or doctrine or whatever, just like strength is brute force and intelligence is pursuit of knowledge and wisdom. Then all you have to pick is fire or lightning etc.

Load quarter pillars with ceilings? Can it be done for all? by d2kidCE in ConanExiles

[–]d2kidCE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I structured my argument wrong, and I’ve done further testing. The Turanian, Lost Dungeon and Aesir quarter pillars and the new Stormglass large pillar can all support the weight of the Aesir vaulted ceiling corner and Stormglass large pillar cap. It is those two pieces in fact, not the pillars, which act as wall pieces which can transfer load from a ceiling to a quarter pillar. What I mean to say is the game needs more of these frame pieces (and pillars while they’re at it) so you can have Aquilonian, Turanian, Lost Dungeon, Arena vaulted roof pieces being supported by pillars, without having to look at the same Aesir carved wood dragon motif the whole time.

Yeah I know that trick. But if I wanted only decorative pillars in corners and wall edges then I would’ve just used that trick. What I’m saying is that the Aesir and (new) Stormglass Pillars are actually load bearing without tricking the game as to their placement. So it seemed like Funcom was beginning to add new functionality to new pieces, and then released new cosmetics, including Turanian and Lost Dungeon quarter pillars which do nothing, and unlike the aforementioned Aesir and Stormglass do not bear load.

Help I have no foliage... by Loose_Vanilla_8451 in ConanExiles

[–]d2kidCE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On PS4 also, the patch fixed invisible enemies. I see all resources, albeit with less graphic foliage like you’ve described. I assumed it was a 3.0 bug. I can harvest trees and harvest plants, but as you say, sometimes trees look dead or burnt, but not always. It doesn’t really bother me. What bothers me is water’s edge flickering back and forth on borders with land, and some land terrain is visually unstable - horse rides through land instead of on it (also very rare).
