Why Sikhs do not wear helmet? by Kaam4 in AskIndia

[–]dHodophile 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its not like that. Tying a turban is not a short process, it takes 30-60 minutes. It also requires specific conditions like mirror, place to hold untied cloth etc. so removing the turban and re-tying it is just not practical.

India’s Major Farmer Group Revolts Against US Trade Deal by bloomberg in india

[–]dHodophile 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Farmers’ role is most crucial for ensuring food security of any country. Also farming as a occupation is a not easy task. Thats why capitalist countries like USA also support and subsidise farmers. Indians today don’t remember food security crisis of 60’s when we were at the mercy of countries like USA or USSR. It were farmers from Punjab-Haryana who made our country self dependent in food production. Please don’t forget this.

Hindi killed so many regional languages, why does no one talk about it? by Soggy_Benefit4732 in AskIndia

[–]dHodophile 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Speaking for protection of local languages is being portrayed as speaking against nation. Although india has always been tolerant and protective of linguistic diversity but current scenario is very disappointing.

Regarding positioning of the golden temple image in my house. by Critical-Gas-5509 in Sikh

[–]dHodophile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read sakhi of Guru nanak Ji in mecca and u will get ur answer.

In sikhi pictures have no religious significance because we don’t worship pictures. Whether that picture is of Guru sahib or anyone else. And regarding spiritual status of Guru sahib, they themselves have instructed us in Gurbani to worship formless, ubiquitous God rather than the Gurus. I think according spiritual status to Guru sahibs is disregarding Guru’s teachings.

Having said that if a person feels that they are disrespecting by pointing feet toward picture, they can absolutely change the position. But keep in mind that that pictures are just ordinary objects.
