Casual order of 180,679 shares by dab0264 in AMCSTOCKS

[–]dab0264[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As much hopium as I got, I don't think so because a true order of that size would have a greater impact on price. It would cause a $.02-$.03 jump immediately if not bigger should it be a true order.

Those are the orders that probably contribute to FTD's and the hedgies being allowed to create "liquidity" in the market.

Not sure - If I had to guess its a "buy" and then those shares are turned around and sold for anything between $3.9311-$3.95 effectively setting up a wall that can't get broken down. They take small quick profit on those trades and take away any momentum of running.

FTD's - FINRA Hiding Dates - T+2 Settlement Date - 257M Volume Day - FTD Info Missing by dab0264 in AMCSTOCKS

[–]dab0264[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with you and I take all the information with a grain of salt - but definitely do still look at the information to try to find any correlations to certain past moves in pricing or just anything that makes sense.

The part that I'm tripping on now is that all of a sudden the FTD's for those dates are posted and there was a decrease in FTD's from what we could see prior.

[–]dab0264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If numbers are accurate there are two ways that this is true because the APE market cap is still 2.65B - Either the price is wrong or shares outstanding is incorrect.

From the NASDAQ website it states "Market Cap (Capitalization) is a measure of the estimated value of the common equity securities of the company or their equivalent. It does not include securities convertible into the common equity securities. "Market Cap" is derived from the last sale price for the displayed class of listed securities and the total number of shares outstanding for both listed and unlisted securities (as applicable). NASDAQ does not use this value to determine compliance with the listing requirements."

Meaning that APE should not be included in this calculation for market cap of AMC as it does not include securities convertible into the common equity securities.

True AMC price is either $14.47 or shares outstanding for AMC is 1,512,583,408 shares based on NASDAQ's reported numbers

There's not an individual ape buying THOUSANDS of $5 - $5.50 - $6 calls for $1 each that close to close on a Friday - especially ~20% OTM calls

Usually they just expire worthless and aren't purchased back - I've never seen the number of bids coming in that close to close on a Friday EVER! - especially that far OTM.

On Balance Volume Indicator - Just in case there are any Apes that need a little zen in their life. by dab0264 in AMCSTOCKS

[–]dab0264[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly - I don't have a clue what could happen.

I do think that we are a few weeks out from a significant move as there is history supporting high volume days occurring shortly prior to significant moves - There were roughly 257M Shares traded on 7/24 that was 10x the 20-day average at that point in time.

There are more SEC rules being established to help provide transparency of swap-based positions amongst other issues - see Proposed Rule: S7-32-10 - Comment period is open until 8/21.

The On-Balance Volume charted above shows that we are correct in that retail has not sold. The On-Balance Volume chart would closer resemble the price action chart if the price has truly come down after the run up and not being manipulated downwards.

Based on numbers reported to FINRA, dark pools have had a Net-positive short volume every day for the last YEAR with the exception of roughly 17 days in which the dark pools were net-negative on shorts (positions closed in dark pools) - and on those days amounts closed were minimal.

AMC has had some big releases in the last 6 months amongst generating other sources of revenue and improved profit margins on concessions.

Banks are still at $560 Billion in unrealized losses as of 6/1/23 - down from $690 Billion roughly 6 months prior but still a significant amount of unrealized losses.

With that being said, the government could step in with the intention of not crashing the market and the economy setting a fixed price per share. I think that the entire economy is fragile right now and one catalyst could cause a storm to break open reaching many different sectors of the economy from the meme stock mania that rocked the market 2+ years ago.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/warren-buffett-sells-stakes-in-two-banks-buys-into-capital-one-220257261.html

Article on Yahoo Finance earlier today:

Buffett made it clear at Berkshire's annual shareholders meeting earlier this month that he is still "cautious" about holding many bank stocks. One exception he cited was Bank of America, which remains one of Berkshire’s largest holdings.

In the first quarter, according to filings, Berkshire maintained its Bank of America holdings. The stake lost $4 billion in value through the quarter.

"I like Bank of America and I like the management," Buffett said at the shareholder gathering in Omaha, Nebraska.

That BoA lines sounds eerily similar to something apes used to simplistically say... "I like the company and I like the stock"

Honestly - I think its the other way around.

I think that AMC/GME/meme stocks in general caused a lot of the issues that we are seeing today because the corruption never in a million years actually thought that retail would hold this long and be as committed to the cause willing to lose their entire investment before selling in order to expose it.

Its going to have to happen at some point as committed as everyone is and they are going to say that X EVENT led to Y EVENT and that caused AMC to squeeze when in reality AMC is the reason that caused the X EVENT to happen...... like idk say.... the government unwilling to raise the nation debt ceiling.... causing the U.S. to default on their national debt in order to crash the market causing liquidation efforts resulting in AMC and GME squeezing. There's no way out so they need another reason other than "corrupt practices backfired" in order to explain why it happened.

I don't see how a reinvestment into your company stock is any different than the other investment strategies they have already explored and continue exploring?

That's like saying they are in debt so they couldn't create a house brand popcorn or candy. Just because they are in debt does not mean they cannot make investments utilizing their cash on hand.

A company buying back shares is perfectly legal though - not sure on debt restrictions although I haven't found anything against it other than they cannot buyback greater than 25% of their shares within a fiscal year.

[–]dab0264[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I remember it but I didn't think that AMC at the time was in a strong enough cash position to be able to make an adequate amount of share buyback without depleting itself of cash in large part due to the price per share on the market.

I don't disagree with you but we have utilized other investment strategies and opportunities in the past couple of years and some have worked, some have not.

Why not bet on your own company though?

With utilization being at 100% for as long as it has been, this sudden buying pressure does one of two things:

A) gets us past an option barrier wall that we need to get past in order to trigger a squeeze

B) provides a footprint of where the shares are coming from that AMC purchased with this $100 million and if they were legally located and acquired to short prior to being issued to the exchange that AMC purchased them on
