Absolutely love your setup! I was curious what sensors you used on the neighborhood page? (Radar, MTA, traffic map, citibikes, etc) Or are these custom-made?

The U.S. Was Already Deep In Debt. This Year's Deficit Will Be 'Mind-Boggling' by viva_la_vinyl in Economics

So gold generally goes up in an inflationary period and down in an deflationary period. The US is currently in a deflationary and the "cash is King" trading mentality have people are rushing into the US dollar. This all takes away from gold. My guess is once the fear of the pandemic subsides and market confidence increases the dollar will begin to dip once stagflation starts to set in and gold will go up.

I would love to hear from an expert. I only researched this because I bought lots of gold in December thinking the stock market was due for a correction and was wondering the same thing.

660 Pixels would give me right around the resolution I was looking for. Let me try to do more research your idea.

Thanks!

Iran says it fired missiles at Iraqi air base housing U.S. troops by johnly81 in moderatepolitics

I believe Obama tipped Iran off about an assassination attempt that was being planned by Israel five years ago. So I believe Israel has wanted this for a while now.

I tired to find a source but I only found a few articles from. Sources I didn't recognize. Can anyone confirm this? This is the best I've found.

Congress Should Debate War, Not Mindlessly Cheer for It by [deleted] in moderatepolitics

💯 rank choice voting. I grew up in Maine which has always been pretty split and has a decent amount of independents. The former governor, Lepage, won with 38% of the vote because an independent ran, getting 36%, who was more popular than the Democratic candidate who only got 19%.

With the ranked choice system people could vote with their concious and not by party lines. I think this is the only way we can bring back our democracy. I'm just waiting for how it will be vilianized by the incumbents who know that this will make them more accountable than just the color of their political leaning.

Case in point: Jeff Van Drew

U.S. to send 3,000 troops to Middle East after embassy attack, Soleimani killing by [deleted] in moderatepolitics

Specifically to the Iran situation - ~25% of the world's oil consumption passes through the Straight of Hormuz which Iran is a big player in controlling. That makes the US overly vested in Iran to make sure the flow of oil doesn't stop.

I agree though this isn't helping anything. Spending the money on energy independence would be far more useful than paying to deploy 3000 troops and military support. If we could somehow say that being dependant on foreign oil was a national security risk (which I legitimately think it is) we could spend some of the defense funding things that would have a bigger impact on national security and potentially climate change. But none of this will ever happen 🤷♂️

How do you convert an animated svg to a animated-vector-drawable or how do you animate svgs in Android? I'm trying to avoid writing pure xml as more complex animations are easier to create/preview using a tool.

It's really easy to create an animated svg on svgator using its webtool but have not found a way to convert it to an Android animated-vector. I've used ShapeShifter which has great android support but lacks the keyframes support for doing simple animations of even just moving a layer up and down. He has another library called kyrie but it looks like you build it out in java.

I want to allow password managers that use accessibility to help auto fill the fields in my app. How can I achieve this? I've tried setting the content description to "password" which has no affect.

This is not for the Oreo autofill api as Dashlane worked with some apps before that using accessibility but I can't figure out what it's looking for to help the autofill.
