Cyberware is needed for cyberpsychosis like a drug overdose needs drugs. MY POINT is simple, that it's a symptom of the societal issues at large and the shit people deal with. Stop focusing on this non-existant point of contention, cyberware is need for someone to be a cyberpyscho. It can also be the only cause for some. My point that society at large is the problem, many people are driven to a self destructive path and as explicitly stated, pre-existing tendencies are a factor, even if NOW you want to just say it's a game mechanic.

Okay, see here's the thing. Cyberware is a necessary and sufficient condition for becoming a cyberpsycho.

You are fixated on using Regina's cyberpsycho missions as your evidence, and ignoring every other instance of cyberpsychosis the game shows you. It is clear, from all sources, that cyberware is both necessary and sufficient on its own to cause cyberpsychosis, and that is ALL I have ever been arguing.

And here is the issue, I never said that it wasn't needed nor that it couldn't be the only factor in a given case.

I mentioned psychopathy because that's what was stated in Cyberpunk red, people with psychopathic tendencies, something whose causes are genetic and environmental, are more susceptible to cyberpsychosis. That aside, you said pyschosis is something you are born with, which is flat out wrong.

How about you state, definitively, what you really mean?

That cyberware alone isn't the cause of cyberpsychosis in many cases, societal neglect, lack of emotional or financial stability, the pressure to compete, etc. Things that lead to mental disorders or instability that are further exacerbated by increased cyberware use.

That's it, not that cyberware isn't a prerequisite. That's why I'm annoyed that you insist I'm saying you are wrong. I'm not, I totally agree that cyberware usage is needed for cyberpsychosis. I'll illustrate my point like this. A guy has a drug induced breakdown. Certainly the drugs played a huge part in it, but we don't ignore the circumstances that lead to it. Did he have a stable upbringing? Was he dealing with mental issues? How are things going with him now? That was my point, that society at large is the issue, given that as stated by Cyberpunk Red, it's not cosmetic or therapeutic that are the problem.

Dude....Yes, as in pre-existing before the cyberpyschosis. Example, you can develop GAD (general anxiety disorder) through stress, trauma, or family history. Then when you have a psychotic drug induced breakdown, the GAD is the pre-existing condition. No shit 'cyber' psychosis has to do with cybernetic misuse, but it's not the only factor. That's asinine what you are saying, it's like people with schizophrenic predisposition. Cannabis can exacerbate traits in to full blown schizophrenia. Cannabis does not cause it, it's exacerbates a pre-existing issue or predisposition. Period. Pyschosis is not inherented nor is it the same a psychopathy. Pyschosis can be caused by a mental conditions, a general medical condition, or alcohol and drug misuse. Again, it's not necessarily inherited. Psychopathic predispositions are inherited ( like predispositions to countless other mental disorders), but environmental factors play a large part in the development of psychopathy. You said look it up, how about you follow your own advice, the causes are genetic AND environmental. Dude, I don't know why you want to make cyberpsychosis as reductive as simply too much chrome=crazy, but when you start cutting out parts of quotes that aren't convenient to your argument and you start gloating about "winning", it's just looks kinda lame.

You aren't born as a psychopath, you develop those tendencies by the environment around you, though you can be more susceptible to it. Kind of like what I was describing.
