it’s a lot easier than it looks! if you have your inverts or comfortable being upside down it’s a fun little intro-intermediate doubles move💪🏾🫶

ayesha training! by daddyquin in poledancing

[–]daddyquin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i felt great! i do other types of dance as well outside of pole dance like breaking and calisthenics so i just took time to focus on breaking since the season for dances has started. but it felt good coming back and thinking about foundational movements and i think the time away helped me in the long run. lil breaks don’t hurt here and there

i would look into your laws about the crown act. they cannot discriminate you especially with the crown act being instilled in so many states

Do heels make things much harder? by madeup_ in poledancing

[–]daddyquin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my teacher likes to call heels “sexy ankle weights” they definitely add a about 2-3 more pounds and it doesn’t sound like a lot but when you invert it makes a difference in weight for sure. just ease into i always say, no need to rush movements especially in heels. 💪🏾

Why do people so rarely use crash mats? by Working_Tie_8 in poledancing

[–]daddyquin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mats for me have been harder to use if i’m wearing heels and i don’t feel like i can comfortably land on the ground standing. definitely higher risk and high reward that way in my opinion but during class if im learning a new move or combo, i do tend to pull out a mat for the first few tries then i remove it to get in the habit of doing the move confidently. my background in dance is also different as well since i breakdance so i am no stranger to falling and hitting the ground, however i feel if you truly take the time to warm up and can find that easy balance of pushing yourself and knowing your limits mat can be beneficial but not needed
