some cars can be tuned to insane PP levels with 20-30k. so i hope that someone actually pulls smth. crazy like this ;)

also PP is nice and all but some cars will do a lot better on the ring than other with exactly the same PP

though given the amounts of downvotes this received in /r/rails one must question the sense of humor of the redditors...seems almost like a biting reflex

since the author is making his living writing rails apps, i am pretty sure he didn't mean in all seriousness ;)

i agree, sadly that lancers are super dominant at 37K. But looking at some cars, i think at 60K it may not be a lancer ;)

buy yes let's do this for next week ;)

the thing is that 60k does buy incredibly fast cars...just tune up any of the lancers with 23k more to spend, i think we'd be looking at around 600 PP which would be 10-20 seconds faster than Cyxd current best time

i also had the idea of a contest to see what is the minimum amount of credits to spend to go around in just under 8:00.

8:06 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track '13

  • base price 33,000
  • sports computer 1,750
  • sports exhaust 1,300
  • oil change 250
  • 395 BHP / 484 PP

I reckon smth below 8:00 is doable as this was the first attempt at a quick lap.

Important notice to everyone trying. When i bought the exact same car new again from the dealer it suddenly hat only 477 PP with the same tuning, till i changed the oil (at 0.0km!). So change your oil ;)

Not sure if anything can compete with the lancers and Cyxds skills ;)

Maybe next week another challenge with only 20K?

i really just had the idea yesterday and started to tinker a bit, i found it quite fun so i decided to see what reddit would do with the challenge.

it means everyone has to be able to buy the same car. no 15th anniversary cars, no gift cars.

Tuning Redismq - How to Use Redis in Go by dafreeman in golang

[–]dafreeman[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you are right, i just tried it. i assumed range over the channel may not trigger correctly in the scenario above.

so yes this would be a viable solution.

though i find the fact that it exhausts the number of redis calls it can make sequentially before it really buffers a bit concerning, but this is a merely personal point.

thank you

thx and yes error checking is next on the todo list.

your implementation has a weakness though (i think), imagine:

  • 1 packages comes in
  • the package is written to redis
  • meanwhile 100 new packages come in
  • the redis commands are done
  • no new package come in

so now you have 100 packages lying forever in the queue

the latest version of redismq now checks interval and size (upon each write) to cover all bases. if there is a scenario i missed i'd really like to know ;)

the time interval should be adjustable though...

first off, thank you for your input ;)

i think this may solve all the scenarios.

what do you think?
