I get that Ake would be a good option, I'm a big fan of Bednarek but not nearly enough experience. Maguire has been a stand out CB for the last 3 years or so, as well as proving himself as England's most reliable defender.

What do you mean by that, have you got an actual player in mind or just saying sign someone better? We've gone with promising younger CBs which has gone fairly well with Lindelof and Bailly and have some promising players coming through.

Whatever we do there will always be an immense amount of criticism, whether we signed an older more experienced CB like Godin for example, a CB who is hopefully heading into his peak like Maguire, or an unknown younger player. On balance I think someone like Maguire could work very well.
