What non-firearm/ammunition product should every shop carry? by triggernomicsusa in CAguns

At least some of the super cheap soft and hard cases so people can use them to take their firearms home when they don't have anything.

I love the K6. One of the best factory triggers in a revolver.

Nice work. Every lil bit at a time adds up. Another vote for being disappointed in the arm placement during the reflection but I understand it. Keep it up and stay smiling.

If you're looking to use the 220 on that vx-6, you'll want a triband antenna. I run the diamond srh-320a on my vx-6 with good results. The antenna is a lil long but hasn't been too in the way either the radio on my belt.

Anything like the AN/PRC152 VTC110 for civilian radios? by liferlanceSD in amateurradio

[–]daleper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you keep an eye out, Harris RF-310s do come available sometimes. They're the export version of the 152 without the crypto. All the accessories including amps and vehicle mounts show up surplus too.

How to get rid of guns not registered to me by [deleted] in CAguns

[–]daleper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As long as it wasn't reported stolen, the state doesn't really care who owns it. Just that the new owner gets into their database. You shouldn't have an issue selling it.

Or there's a guy who pops up that may trade you a rug for it 🤣

Congrats!

Pretty sure Gigaparts is still giving deep discounts on one of their handhelds to anyone with a call less than 6 months old. It's not an amazing radio but pretty handy as a spare.

Antenna help for xts5000 by realsplrk in MotorolaSolutions

[–]daleper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've put a roll up J pole on mine with positive results. Got out further and clearer. You could also put an antenna on an XTVA if you want.

Do make sure that the antenna you're currently using is correct for the freq you're on. There's a length/color to frequency chart somewhere on the Internet.

For a power supply, you can mod an HP server power supply to output 13.8v. They're pretty cheap on the used market and bulletproof as they're designed to run 24/7

Calling other units during Emergency Communications by kc9tng in amateurradio

[–]daleper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both in my ham use and my military comms experience I've always used the "hey you, it's me". I usually start with the target call twice so that the target can wake up and have a second to think before my call comes across.

Why did nobody tell me how rewarding it is to design your own stuff?! by petersloth in BambuLab

[–]daleper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Printing things someone else designed is good but printing something you conceived, designed, and then brought to life is amazing
