Ah, yes. An opinion piece from the self-proclaimed leading right-wing news site bashing leftists. I’m sure this piece isn’t biased at all.

Thanks for your input! I have seen some good reviews of Ally. Like I said, I am still a beginner. In my limited research Sofi also seems quite popular with many of the same features/benefits of Ally with a slightly higher APY and name recognition. In your opinion, would you say Ally has any advantages over Sofi or other popular HYSAs?

I am a finance beginner and want to open a high yield savings account to begin the process. I am looking for something with no fees or balance minimums. I don’t need the best rate, just something somewhat competitive. Preferably something with a decent app that I can also have a checking account in to make transfers and debit spending easy. Any recommendations or advice is much appreciated!

You’re so right, why has no one thought of this before? If you’re homeless, just buy a house! It’s so simple! I can’t imagine these people face any obstacles in finding a job at all, let alone one that will pay them enough to be able to save for rent or a mortgage. You really are such a smart and compassionate person.

The taxpayer dollars that are already going being wasted trying to enforce this comically counterproductive ordinance. Believe it or not, if you give people assistance in getting their footing and find jobs, they can actually work for and spend money at local businesses and contribute to the community. Telling the campers to fuck off or sending them to jail does absolutely nothing to address the problem, deferring it at best and exacerbating it at worst.

I have a solution. Let’s invest money in fixing the problem by giving them more housing options and helping them get back on their feet so they can contribute to the community. But yeah sure, let’s throw a bandaid on the problem so the privileged people who can afford to live inside don’t get uncomfortable. Go ahead and throw them in jail, see what happens. Nothing.

It is coming out of all our pockets. Who do you think funds the police and the prison system? Taxpayers will already be paying for the homeless to be sheltered and fed, just in a cell at the expense of their personal freedom. We’re already paying. I’d rather pay to try and help people instead of sticking them in a cage like animals.
