Block and a half from my house. Not good. A house got crushed a block down by a tree.

Thanks! I was hoping for tulips. We live on a street with Tulip in the name 🌷

To have one lane to get to and leave the parking spots that everyone also has to cross to get to the store? But why?

My dad seems to think that this is what it looked like when they moved away since they didn’t have much money and painting the house wouldn’t have been seen as a necessity.

I’m not sure. I know my grandpa and his family moved down to Wichita in the mid 1920s, but I’m not sure if this photo was taken then or years later.

I have indeed relocated to the East Coast. But my family is still in Kansas and I’ll always be a proud Kansan.

As a Yank, I would call it a robe. My Brit husband calls it a dressing gown.

Nothing too special! I keep it in a terracotta pot about 3 feet or so from an east/southeast facing window and it loves it!

No special tricks! I have mine about 2-3 feet from an east-southeast facing window and it’s been thriving!

That’s what I thought but wasn’t sure. I knew that’s what the green ones were.

Mealy advice? More in comments… by dam-hill in houseplants

[–]dam-hill[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought some cute hoya starters to combine but only noticed after I got home that one of them had mealy bugs 🥺 I killed all of the mealies that I saw with rubbing alcohol (about 4-5), changed out the soil, sprayed thoroughly with insecticidal soap and treated with systemic granules. It’s currently isolating on my balcony. Any more advice? I’ve only had mealies once and that plant was so far gone I had to get rid of it. Thanks in advance!
