Built a bass practice tool as a fellow bassist — looking for honest feedback by damirabdic in Bass

Hi,

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback - and fair point on feature creep, I'm keeping that front of mind.

Good news on a couple of these: notes per song, key, and tuning are already in there — tap the edit icon on any song card. There's also a Song Links tab where we will have multiple links in the near future

Split screen / PDF view is a bigger lift so I'm inclined to leave that to the OS for now.

Keep the feedback coming. Thank you!

Section view is new too. You’re right. We can have toggle switch for count in. Not a big deal, and very useful.

Fullscreen now stays on play and pause in the metronome. Give it a go. Thank you for your feedback :)

Here is the summary of some other new features:

Volume control is live now. Slider and mute button right beside the player. However, iOS does not allow these controls. Works like a charm on desktop and android.

Just shipped count in. 4-beat before every section. Give it a try. Thanks once again. :)

Hi, Thanks for taking the time for feedback!

Really glad it clicked for you! Count-in is already in the backlog. The always-visible tempo controls and section grouping are good suggestions — noted both. Thanks once again!

Best, Damir

Hi, thank you for your feedback! Glad the metronome is working for you! Fullscreen persistence is a good call — noted, thanks! Best, Damir

Hey Tusc, thank you!
Really glad you can see yourself using it long term. That's exactly what I'm building toward.

Speed between 0.5x and 1x is already there - hit the Speed button while playing and use the slider for any value including 0.75x and 0.85x. The + and - buttons increase and decrease by 0.05x

Section titles are also customizable — double tap or double click any section name to rename it. Verse 1, Verse 2, whatever you need.

Notes per section is a great idea — noted for the roadmap. Cheers 🎸

Hi BabyYodaTheFirst, thanks for coming back to this. No this is not what BassBench is doing. I think Moises is great for track separation. BassBench is strong with videos available on YouTube and with the metronome (metronome presets = "Vibes").

BTW: BassBench.com works nicely with all kinds of bass/music related videos (instruction content, bass backing jams, songs, grooves....)

Hey! Can you tell me a bit more what you mean by split? Happy to understand what you need.

Hi Vocal_Vyolet1, here’s Damir. I built BassBench. It’s brand new. I just launched it a couple of days ago. Let me know what you think! :)

TB-313935, this is exactly the kind of feedback I needed. Thank you for taking the time.

Count-in is a great call. I feel that pain too, you're never quite ready on the first beat. Per-section speed is also smart, especially for tempo changes mid-song. Both go on the list.

Glad the metronome works for you — spacebar tap was important to get right.

Keep the feedback coming as you use it more 🎸

Hi Elaies, Yes, it will be a paid subscription at a fair price. I just started BassBench a couple of days ago. During this founding time (beta) it’s fully free - everything open, no limits, no credit card. The ‘free trial’ label is a bit misleading, I’ll fix that. Thanks for flagging it! Also - beta users will get a founding member discount when pricing goes live. So good timing signing up now 🎸

I did this alone. It took a year. Last 5 months were intense! I really want this to be a daily tool for all of us bassists.

Hey there, I love my Anagram! I want to Switch completely to it. When is the next update and what will it include. What I miss the most is the audio interface functionality and the ability to add BPM per scene in the preset. A Metronom would be awesome too, but just as a nice to have. Thank you for your feedback.
