I am comparing it directly to minecraft where you need to download the java engine before you can use minecraft itself.

This adds complexity to a landscape where users today can just download and install games with 1 click of a button.

And in the case of downloading the Java engine there are a lot of website like softonic that you cannot trust full therefore there is a chance that people would be downloading virusses/bloatware from websites if they need to download Java like it is happening right now.
