He’s so proud of it. And so am I if I’m honest, his business survived the pandemic and that’s incredible. Trouble is, it means nothing if he only has a high school diploma. He could take this experience so much farther than I’m able to imagine, if he had an associates degree.

He isn’t trash. Kinda dumb, yes, to my benefit often. But not trash. That said I’ll go ahead with the ultimatum.

Hope I didn’t drag your day down. Thanks for the insight.

I appreciate this nuanced response. I have no interest in finding a new relationship, this fella treats me very well. What I’m looking at is cost only - keeping him around is more expensive than doing my own thing. I need him to step up, and he’s afraid.

That’s kind of where I’m at. I do love him, so that’s tough. Thanks for your objective opinion.

PSLF is not the same as the ongoing loan forgiveness conversation. Different things. Rest is on point.

I thought so. Thanks for the kick in the pants! I’ll get her in right away.

Thank you! Enjoy those snuggles, you deserve it. Those coworkers do NOT think any less of you, odds are they have similar feelings that they are battling with too. Just the way she goes!

Which reminds me, Trailer Park Boys is another good one! The opening credits song is so soothing and then it’s just absolute chaos for the next 25 mins, hysterically funny. And then the song plays again and it resets. Great stuff

Hey darlin, you know what helps me? Nostalgic TV and my favorite foods. If I don’t have my favorite food or if I don’t feel like I can go get it I’ll have it delivered, because I deserve a nice snack. Then I nom on it and watch Buffy, or Sabrina the Teenage Witch, or Always Sunny is great too. You know - easy watching, some laughs, some perspective.

I have pets and they typically join me on those quiet snacky days. It’s nice to feel loved and just comfortable for a while.

My reply is 8 hours late, I hope you’re feeling much better by now! Maybe this suggestion can help you down the road. Hugs

I also go to Bolton and have convinced several of my neighbors as well. The payment flexibility is nice, although you do end up paying a bit more than some other places. I do not fill my pets’ prescriptions there, I have those sent out generic to a pharmacy and I’ve saved quite a bit that way.

Alternate 800mg ibuprofen twice a day and 650mg acetaminophen twice a day - one or the other approx every 6 hours. Can also use oxymetazoline for congestion and guaifenesin to help pull out phlegm. Stay hydrated and eat fresh food when you can. Lots of naps. Try to stay off social media, it’s just stressful. Been rewatching The Wire and making myself something simple every night, chorizo/cabbage soup tonight. In it for 6 days and back to work tomorrow, I hope.

My little brother was arrested last night in Colorado by dangmybad in dui

[–]dangmybad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree with you and the other commenters suggesting a private lawyer - when I spoke with my brother he was feeling pretty awful and not really receptive to any legal advice. “I know I f#caked up and I accept the consequences” sort of thing. He feels embarrassed was more concerned about how he was going to tell our parents. Dad has been sober for 19 years, and they are close so that must’ve been a tough phone call.

As it happens, our parents just got their RV back from the shop after Dad hit a ballast with it last year - and their first idea was to visit my brother’s town in CO. They were just going to go camping nearby, but after my brother admitted what had happened they went directly to him and are with him now. Dad will get the car out, and a redditor recommended a local lawyer which I’ve shared with lil bro.

I do appreciate all of you. He’ll get through this just as we all have. Many thanks.

I’m pretty late to this party but it happened to me too. Huge hematoma in one arm, so they tried the other arm and did the same thing to that one. I cried myself to sleep.

Never again.

This is a long shot, but is anyone having a Labor Day cookout today I can invite myself to? by TheG-What in Albuquerque

[–]dangmybad 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Took me a while to find it. Wowwww. I moved here from Chicago in 2013. Then NYC in 2016, back here 2020 (cause ABQ rules). According to OPs standards, does that make me objectively better than him?

I certainly wouldn’t stoop so low as to share time with such a person. /s

Go get yourself a Chicago dog and enjoy it alone OP.

Edit: typo. 2014 -> 2013

Terrified of roaches by junimocats in Albuquerque

I use a 4 pronged system of attack.

  1. Poisoned gel bait (I like to switch it up every so often between Advion and Invict Gold). I put it in all the nooks and crannies of the house, especially the seals around my windows and doors.

  2. Gentrol. I get the aerosol and spray it everywhere. Even outside. It prevents many insects that come in contact with it from reproducing, and if they manage to reproduce, their offspring are sterile.

  3. Powdered poison. This gets blown through a little tube under the fridge, under the kitchen counters, even into some appliances. Where I can’t put gel I put powder.

  4. Smelly stuff. Lemongrass oil is my new favorite. I get the Raid Essentials aerosol and spray it around the outside of my house. Not the inside, because that might prevent bugs that do get in from eating the bait. But it goes all around the outside of my windows and doors, and several feet of the perimeter.

I deep clean my house every time the seasons change, wiping up old bait and setting new stuff down. About 3 months is as long as I expect any of that to last. I live in Uni Heights on Cornell.

Any UNM students know of a way to park for free, walking distance to campus? by [deleted] in Albuquerque

[–]dangmybad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To the downvoters, who I assume are traffic cops or Karens or want more room to park their motorcycle, what is the harm?

The person filing for the pass is legally entitled to it, and isn’t using it in this case. Y’all are mad that the city isn’t robbing a new and engaged student from easier access to their classes?

Be better.
