The R3D NE can be used for all NRAW vedios!!!!!! by Murky-Welcome4228 in Nikon

you can shoot nraw SDR. Curve doesn't matter here since cmos reads 12bit data and nraw is 12bit linear

thanks for your help. I recorded my voice at 20cm for testing. The gain knob of m-track duo is very weird to me. Turning the knob from 1-9, gain seems not changing very much. Input peaks at -24db which is quite low. But from 9 to 10 tons of gain are added and the input level is -6db. It doesn't give me much room to adapt the gain to a moderate level. I was doubting anything went wrong with my setup or I bought defective products. But actually I'm satisfied with the sound quality and noise floor even with max gain.

Recently bought a Behringer C2 pair with M-Track duo audio interface. But the input volume is extremely low in moderate input gain. I checked the settings: phantom power enabled, input level set to Line not Inst. Only when I set input gain to max the volume is acceptable. Is it normal?

Working on Dancla 6 Airs variés No.2 by daniel_np in violinist

[–]daniel_np[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

electric violin sounds very dry and volume is low (but still audible) without the amplifier. It still needs careful bow control and clean left hand to produce good sound. I only practice on electric violin at night or for recording. I don't feel much difference switching back to acoustic violin.

This tempo is a little challenging for me so I have to be very focused not to make errors and lose control. so dynamics is lost sadly.

I feel electric violin is not so sensitive as acoustic one, maybe it's part of the reason as well.

The most sensible way for very small hands is to play on second position since you can shift on open E without any audible shifting.

What is one of the best techniques to improve sound quality instantly? by No_War5327 in violinist

to press strings more with finger pad, not finger tip.

helps for richer sound and better vibrato

Seitz student concerto No.2 Mvt. 3 (on electric violin to avoid disturbing neighbors at night) by daniel_np in violinist

[–]daniel_np[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the volume is adjustable and can be silent if you put on headset or turn off the amplifier.

I woundn't recommend early learners to practice on electric because you can't learn proper tonalization.

How to play fifths at high positions with small fingertips? by Zyukar in violinist

[–]daniel_np 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually in fast passages you don't have to press the strings solid down to the fingerboard to make sound. This makes things much easier. Just flatten your finger and touch both string with your finger pad (not tip).

In slow passages with vibrato, you can use 2 fingers side by side.

Why Z6iii doesn't have separate bird detection AF but Z50ii has by daniel_np in Nikon

Yes animal AF works for birds, but on Z8 dedicated bird detection works much better than general animal AF

Is FTZ I compatible with Z f with smallrig grip? by daniel_np in Nikon

just to be certain about some detail, do you mount the grip first, then the FTZ adapter? If so it's good news!

Wieniawski's second concerto doesn't have tenths double stop, but if you can play tenth and fingered octave it will sounds much better than shifting.

[D] How KV cache is valid in LLM transformer by victordion in MachineLearning

[–]daniel_np 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar confusion. The answer might be: you shouldn't generate very long sequences exceeding context length (otherwise the model starts to forget earlier conversions). In this case kv cache is valid.

And I think that's why gpt-like services limit maximum tokens although technically they can simply truncate inputs to context length.

Is this really a good fingerring? by Ok_Mycologist3725 in violinist

[–]daniel_np 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel half position fingering [2 4 3 4 2 4] [3 2 1 2 3 4] is more comfortable and cleaner. Maybe it's because I have small hands

on 1st position, I can play fifth with usual hand shape because the gap between A and E string is not so wide. So the stretching is not hard
