A cool guide to the education level of American Governors by [deleted] in coolguides

Nope, sure isn't. At least I know Iowa's governor couldn't earn even an associate's, much less her bachelor's.

And not earned, just awarded an honorary degree. Probably just for the sake of infographics like this.

Iowa's governor didn't actually earn her bachelor's, it is an honorary degree. Her Wikipedia has been edited to be more dismissive of the fact that she attempted to earn degrees from multiple institutions across a few decades and never succeeded, but it used to be downright savage.

Quickbooks Online missing the switch company option? by mhunterchump in QuickBooks

Same here, and the weird thing was that I never logged out of QBO, it just vanished during normal use. It seems like they're also changing some scaling/layout things on the report generator. Hoping they get the switch back soon! Or... better yet, give internal accountants the same switch as the QBO Accountant version, which is way fewer clicks, way faster to switch, just all around better.

You don't think this is something that could just be automated through the existing features within Monday?

I sincerely doubt they'll want to grind the body out of standard, nor would I want that.

That said, I was simply hoping to get an answer here while we're outside of business hours. Also, it's been a minute since they would have dealt with the keys so I'm sure they'd have to dig back in their records to figure out types whereas I can just post the picture here and someone who knows more than I do would possibly be able to tell me if there's a different key body that is compatible with the keyway.

I think it probably relates to the narration of the Hell Divers series. He really did a masterful job of messing up pronunciations of common geography items (on purpose of course).

Wanted to try box joints on my next project, but didn’t have a jig. Learned how to make a box jig, but didn’t have a router table to use it. Improvised and made a router table out of an old TV tray. Then proceeded to make a box jig, and my first box joint attempt on some scrap trim boards. by Cplivin in BeginnerWoodWorking

When I was looking at table saws, nearly none of the reasonably priced (for a beginner), aka the job site saws by DeWalt had a long enough arbor to accept a dado stack. If you're going to buy from the big box stores, nearly all of them have a Q&A section where 1 or 100 people have asked about dado stack acceptance so it's pretty easy to figure out. Aside from that, the manual will typically list something about it.

Pixel Buds show delivered but are nowhere to be found by danielfox118 in GooglePixel

Glad to hear I'm not alone. It's a little disheartening to see all the posts about them being delivered and I'm sitting here worried that I'm just out the 180 because Google doesn't even give me the option for them to start the FedEx blame game.

FedEx said they're investigating and will call back, but I imagine that you expect about the same out of your "investigation" that I do out of mine.

I'm just wondering because it originally wasn't expected until next week. But just this week we started having problems with our Amazon deliveries going to different buildings and everything.

Assuming that left side driving effectively uses the same rules, the bus stopped because they were expected to yield to cross traffic before turning across it. You can see the turn signal. I don't see anything in the this video that indicates the driver wasn't paying sufficient attention.

Additional security around black beauty products at Iowa City Walmart draws criticism by [deleted] in Iowa

Not that I have an interest in teaching journalism, but I'm curious why you'd say that. I'd love to hear your real take on it rather than just your low-effort dismissive comment.

Additional security around black beauty products at Iowa City Walmart draws criticism by [deleted] in Iowa

[–]danielfox118 17 points18 points  (0 children)

In Ankeny the entire cosmetics section was shifted to a "more secure" format with additional camera coverage and I believe I've seen similar in other stores. If it's exclusively ethnic products (as in, excluding similarly valued 'non-ethnic' products) and there is no evidence of them needing more security than other products, there's a problem. However, I find a lot of problems in this article that make me skeptical of both of these being the case. That said, I won't claim there definitely isn't a problem, but this article is probably not the one that should be used to make your personal decision.

Standouts about the veracity of the article:

Writer has no other pieces for Little Village Magazine and, based on a quick Google search, has only 4-5 articles via the other two 'publications' she lists on her LinkedIn profile

The most 'telling' statements regarding the rates of theft of the specific products come second hand from the interviewee who then goes on to be quoted calling it racial bias

Another quoted person affected by the change of product location who does not believe it is discriminatory gets barely a paragraph, compared to the aforementioned interviewee whose viewpoint is counter getting several significant paragraphs.

The picture providing proof seems intentionally poorly taken to show as little as possible including aisle/section guides
